I bought GOG BG2.
Running XP SP3.
FULL ADMIN. FULL PRIVILAGES.
I put all files in c:\gog games\bg2.
I have tried daemontools lite AND poweriso to mount. When i try that it gives an 'unsupported file type' error.
When i exe the installer i get "Installer needs the next part(.bin) file.
I then try to specify the files location in every conceivable way.
Little Halp!
If i dont get to play this soon the nostalgia is going to kill me.

You don't mount the files m8...it's not an image but a selfcontained zip folder.
If i get a cplus compiler can i add code that specifies the install location?

So, try 7zip?

Thanks for the help. One of these days ill just download it again. No internet outside of my phone.

1. Self contained = no other software needed so don’t muck about with 7.zip, daemon tools, compilers or even patches for that matter because it is all self contained in the three files you downloaded from gog.

2. I suspect you have moved the files to gog/games after downloading them and missed one?
If you used the gog downloader then you should have a folder called “baldurs_gate_2_complete” and it has the “setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12.exe” , “setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12-1.bin” and “setup_baldurs_gate2_2.0.0.12-2.bin”

3. As long as you have the above files click the setup and at the bottom of the install screen will be an options button.

I didnt use the gog downloader. DLed the files with the individual option. Guess ill try it with the dler next time im online. Thanks.
Ok Imo the downloader has much better fault tolerance but regardless of which method you used the three files named above remains what you should get... have another look in your downloads location for the extra bin.

Good luck!
How many files have you downloaded?

There are 3. First one is 1 MB and it's exe file, second one is bin and is 1.45 GB , last one is 849 MB.
You need to put them all into same location (doesn't really matter which one) and then you just have to run the exe file and istaller should start.
You probably don't have all 3 files in the same location or some of them is corrupted.
Its a corruption issue.
WTF are you doing?

There's nothing to mount. Just download the files and run the installer. Install outside "Program Folders", and you should be set.
