I remember it used to be possible to merge two games, in order to get a single, whole experience. Is the same thing possible for Enhanced Editions?

Thank you in advance.

The mod you are looking for is EET : https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/forum/195-enhanced-edition-trilogy/
No. There's really no point. BGT brings the BG2 engine to BG1; classes, kits, et all. BG1EE already has all the BG2EE stuff already in it.
There are two big reasons to use EET:

1) For the things it allows to do by itself, differently than playing the games separately. Quoting from its readme:
- Seamless experience, NPC continuity, better internal consistency between the games
- United journal system that keeps track of all 22 chapters of your journey, from the beginning in Candlekeep up until the end of Throne of Bhaal expansion
- No restrictions in travelling between BG1, SoD, BG2 and ToB areas, once they are discovered. All areas accessible from the same worldmap

2) If you want to install a whole bunch of mods, especially newer ones, some of which may not even be available for BG1EE.
This is awesome! Thank you for your replies, guys! I've played the original BG saga merged and it was a much better experience, felt much more coherent and wholesome, much better than playing separate games.

And I've had EE games collecting dust in my library for a long while now, so I've decided to try those, only, I've wanted to play them as a whole!
