Hello,

Why "Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition" on GOG hasn't the french version ? On Stam the palyers can play in French complet (text and voice).

Thank you.
I'm waiting for this too...
You guys might try asking Beamdog that question.
the build Gog got has 8 (english + 7) and french was added to Beamdog later by the fans who did all the translation work

so the Beamdog build has it [see image] but Gog does not... I assume Gog could talk to Beamdog about adding it but thats up to them i.e, Gog to chase up

Beamdog hasn't shown any interest in keeping the GOG version up to date. I think users should complain about that.
at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you or I think Beamdog should do... the only way Gog build is going to be updated to add French is from Gog talking to Beamdog and coming up with some kind of a deal

Generally developers don't need to be talked into providing updates for their games that people have bought. I don't know if there's some kind of argument between GOG and Beamdog and I don't really care. If they treat like trash the ones who bought their game through GOG, then those consumers should become angry and tell them so. I did so and was ignored (Beamdog is good at that).

I guess we disagree. Be well.

I agree with you: I also bet that Steam didn't need to contact the developers in order to get the latest version of the game.

That said, let me add that your vision of the gaming world is far too ideal to be realistic.
Game stores have both the right and the duty to protect their customers: if a developer doesn't keep their games up to date in a particular store, it damages both the gamer and the store, because it will make the latter lose customers.
That's exactly what is happening lately here on GOG.
Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on GOG has French. Selectable from game options. The version of game is up to date, 2.5.17.0.
