I spoke with Scar inside the Flaming Fist Barracks. He told me to meet him outside, but he's gone.
have you has this problem as well? Can we restore him?

Travel to another area and then back again.

Tried it. Still gone.

Then please provide more details. "I spoke with Scar and now he's gone" says nothing about quest progress, let alone what version of the game you're playing, or what mods you have installed.

If you meet him outside, he just takes you in to see the Duke, which you can do by yourself anyway.

I spoke to him about the Seven Suns quest and that I hadn't completed it yet. Basically the first quest.
I play "Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga." It's supposed to include the latest official patch.

Then you need to complete the Seven Suns quest. You must go upstairs and talk to the 'merchants' until they turn into doppelgangers, then completely rid the building of them. Once you've recued Jhasso from the basement, go back and talk to Scar, who will give you another quest.

I'm here to say I'm having the exact same glitch. I talked to Scar and agreed to look into the Seven Suns mess. I went to Seven Suns, was informed they were Doppelgangers. Returned later, killed them all and rescued Jhasso. Now...Scar is nowhere to be found.

And if you just search "Baldur's Gate Scar missing" you will see it's a common bug.
