Maybe it was addressed in one of the nightwire episodes, maybe the devs already answered this question, but I can't seem to find it.

In most first-person game I've played, melee combat wasn't really complex, because they were designed to be played as a shooter with guns. As much as I am excited to see all the cool guns in the game, I am curious to see just how in-dept the melee combat will be.

IF the game truly lets the players to "play your way", then surely there will be some sort of melee options for everyone who likes to get up-close?

How many weapons will there be? Will weapons have some sort of mods to increase performance? How complex will the actual combats be? Will it be simple attack and block, or will there be more strat to it?

My impressions from the videos is that it will be fairly straightforward. Attacking and moving is what I've seen, but nothing about blocking thus far. I wish they kept wallrunning as that would've been awesome for stealth/style points, but oh well.

They have a katana, the mantis blades, and those gorilla arms so far from what I can remember for melee options.
The combat in general is not very complex, though your overall build fitted with different stats/abilities may add a bit more flair to whatever approach you're going for.

IGN has a video on YouTube that is a Q&A on CP2077 and he had almost the exact question at the 5:18 mark. I think he said something along the lines of "if you block just before being hit you can counter strike", but you may want to check the vid yourself.

Ive gotten the impression its quite fast-paced, kill fast and furiously. Its nothing like For Honor for example. OR Kingdome Come Delivernce. I actually expect it to be more like "Skyrim with Guns".

I personally wish the game has good "flow", kinda Matrix Stuff, than combat with depth.
