So, I'm level 37 with crafting 15 and just unlocked the Legendary craft perk.

On one hand, I got the upgrade receipe for every iconic weapon I own, on the other, none of the upgrades for the iconic clothing I own showed up.

In fact, other than a few random pieces of clothing for each type (uncommon, rare, epic and legendary), I don't seem to have a lot of clothing crafting receipes. How do I get them? Vendors sell clothes, but I never saw them selling clothing crafting receipes.

Also, I assume the special items don't have better versions than rare (wolf school shirt and jacket, black unicorn and galaxy shirt).

I'm playing the Epic store version of the game.
So I figured that special DLC items (wolf and galaxy clothes, the black unicorn Katana) will upgrade to Epic and Legendary as you upgrade them normally (so they consume A LOT o resources).

But I still don't know how to get receipes for the other clothes. :(
Which patch are you on? They have apparently removed a lot, if not all, clothing recipies (as well as legendary clothing) from vendors in 1.6.

If you got CET (Cyber Engine Tweaks) I can post the codes for some clothing recipies if you want.

EDIT:
I just checked, and I don't have that many clothing recipies either. That said, while you get some added automatically with the Crafting perks, there really aren't that many crafted clothes worth having (at least not from a style / design / fashion standpoint).

You're typically better off just using and upgrading the clothes you get as the game progresses.

I'm on 1.6. Thanks for the offer, but don't worry about clothing receipes. I just hope they get something back in the game.

I also just noticed that the iconic pieces of clothing I own work just like the Galaxy/Wolf stuff, so it's gradual upgrades with a shitload of components; :( I guess I'll just dupe the components.

In any case, I'm not scraping for new clothes right now, my set works well.

EDIT: I just noticed that the Iconic jackets I own are also DLC clothes.

Are you playing as female V? If you are, then you got a chance at getting a Max Tac uniform, if that would take your fancy. ;)

I don't know how far you are into the story, so I don't want to spoil anything (unless you want me to), but while they are not listed as "unique", that clothing set is one of a kind and only one way to get them.

Any clothing in the game classified as unique are all called DLCs as far as I know. Wolf School shirt etc. All obtained through linking the game with GoG Galaxy.

As I don't donate my game data to anyone, I just used CET and console codes to obtain those, as well as the sword, without linking anything anywhere. But as such, I don't know what the max rarity normally is. I got all of mine as legendary, with crafting recipies, as well as Johnny's clothes (shoes, pants, aviators etc.).

I'm playing male V, but it's ok. I started this thread mostly because the there were so many iconic weapons and I already understood how the system regarding them worked, but wasn't really understanding the clothing side of things. Now I understand, and it's fine.

Generally speaking, I keep my V's look the same through the wardrobe system. But thanks for the inputs. :) I appreciate them.

I think I misunderstood your initial question. I am a bit out of touch with the game as I haven't played in awhile, and I'm still on patch 1.5 so I haven't checked out the 1.6 changes for myself yet.

As a game item, clothes are treated the same as a weapon in terms up upgrading them, both in stats and rarity. And unless CDPR has changed things with the 1.6, the Legendary recipies should be unlocked at Crafting level 18, requiring the perk "Edgerunner Artisan".

Generally speaking, there are only a few iconic clothing in the game, and come to think of it, I don't know of any outside the "DLC" clothes you already have mentioned.

Regular clothing (not that iconic clothing offered anything special), even at Legendary rarity, used to be available for purchase at vendors, which is now apparently changed / nerfed.

There are still a LOT of clothing set items in the game though (still no set bonuses like in Diablo 2, sadly), spread around in secret places (and some only available after certain points in the main missions). And the 1.6 patch have supposedly introduced several new pieces of clothing set items.

Nothing special about them, but they do offer a typical look (purely aesthetic) to your character depending on the lifepath and type of build you are doing.

My personal favourites are either the Corpo set, or this list of items (white and dark green, with gold details):
Though the vendor locations (and nearest fast travel point) are probably and unfortunately no longer applicable with the 1.6 patch.

Head - Media Baseball Cap With Reactive Layer (after "I Fought The Law"-mission)
Location: Regional Airport
Alternative: Boss Mafioso Trilby With Armoured Lining

Plain Secondhand Flat Cap
Location: RNG clothing vendor

Face - Shiroi Tora Photoelectric Sport Glasses
Location: Rancho Coronnado, clothing store (Mallagra & Manzinita)

Outer Torso - Saeko's Prototype Tactical Aramid Breastplate
Location: Corpo Plaza, clothing store (Reconilliation Park)

Inner Torso - Arcticombat Semi-Formal Button-Up
Location: Wellsprings, clothing store (Cannery Plaza)

Legs - Reinforced Duolayer Techie Cargo Pants
Location: Rancho Coronado, S-curve (Tama Viewpoint)

Feet - Stylish Rock Garden Tungsten-Alloy Steel-Toes
Location: Corpo Plaza, clothing store (Reconilliation Park)

Suitable weapons:
Wilson's Pistol (quest), Skippy (quest / unique), M251 Ajax, Shingen Mark V (unique)
