Almost all of the titles in my library have a little "NEW" box next to their name, even ones I've had for years, have installed, played for hours, beaten, uninstalled, and tagged as completed. How do I get them to stop saying "NEW" next to their names?

Do you use Galaxy? Did you ever download the offline installer?
I don't use galaxy and only games, which I haven't downloaded the offline installer for (yet), are marked as "NEW" for me.

Edit: Sorry for the confusion. They are "offline backup installers". Themken explained what it means.

I'm posting in the Galaxy forums. I wasn't aware that it was possible to do so without Galaxy. But yes, I use Galaxy. I don't know what you mean by downloading an offline installer; wouldn't you have to be online to download that installer in the first place, making it a contradiction in terms?
Standalone installers that can be installed offline after having downloaded them.

Accessable either through a web browser or via some hidden way in Galaxy.

You're posting in the GOG general discussion forum. GOG != Galaxy. Galaxy is a client for GOG games, but it's not necessary and many people don't use it. You can download the games without Galaxy by going into your games list using a web browser and downloading the standalone installers.

Themken: or via some hidden way in Galaxy.
I'm pretty certain Galaxy doesn't count.

The only way is to click the blue button you linked (clicking cancel or cancelling the download should fine though though, as GOG just need to count that manual download.)
It is silly if the dot stays year after year. Sure it is not so important but I can easily see how it is annoying.

There's a way to clear the notification dot, you need the console and some arcane command.
I knew that the client wasn't necessary to play GOG games, and I knew what a standalone installer was, I'd just never heard it called an "offline installer" before. What I didn't know was that the GOG forums were accessible through a normal web browser as well as the Galaxy client. Learn something new every day.

Do you happen to know what this "arcane command" is?
So is that a no?

Maybe Darvond, who mentioned it, knows or just mentioned it, because it would be an option.
I quoted both of you, maybe Darvond didn't see you asking.

In so far as the history of the world is concerned - Human beings are 'new'

There is a way, but not from Galaxy client.

You need to visit gog.com from your web browser, sign in, open games library from the top menu and left click on each game.

Just go to your Profile aka your account name and your "Games" tab. Click on the game and the notification should go away.

Those notifications are not just for games you just bought, they are also notifications that something associated with the game has been updated. It might be language updates that don't matter to you, but "something" was updated.
