StingingVelvet: For games I've been posting pretty much just here and one other forum. That other forum though has been completely taken over by the "OMG SJWs!!!" stuff. Whether you agree with one side or the other of that "war" or not, I just don't want it taking over the entire conversation about literally everything. Like I'm trying to discuss the coming RPG The Outer Worlds and all anyone is talking about is SJW stuff, not the game at all.
GOG forum is fun and I'm not leaving, but it's not a popular place to discuss new games in depth. Is there a forum out there I could replace the other one with, that lets me discuss new games with a relatively large group of people and without it being taken over by constant social war stuff? I only play on PC and mostly play RPGs, but also FPS games and point and click adventures, if that matters.
Thanks for any tips.
Sadly such talk pervades into many online and offline spaces due to how many talk about it and how much it affects various aspects of our lives as of late. I think the only way to avoid it would be to find a forums with a full stop "no politics" rule(more strict than the one here) that is actually fully enforced or go off the grid entirely. :\ GOG forum is fun and I'm not leaving, but it's not a popular place to discuss new games in depth. DadJoke007: The worst part is, both sides of the identity politics seem to think they have something new and interesting to say, but they don't. They just parrot what they hear from their respective ideologists and news sources like mindless drones while slamming the "dumb people" on the other side for doing just that.
No, you don't fight for a noble cause or see some truth that others don't, you just parrot easily digested talking points to follow your group narrative. It doesn't contribute to anything, it just hijacks every discussion so that we have to participate in the same tired discussion over and over again.
I think some do think for themselves and just gravitate to those with similar beliefs, and not everyone is an "NPC".No, you don't fight for a noble cause or see some truth that others don't, you just parrot easily digested talking points to follow your group narrative.
