Yes. I have only played the game for a few hours but the combat was annoying, unlike in Fallout where it is gloriously good. The combat in Arcanum is probably something you just go through and not something you will really like. (I could be wrong though, perhaps it is possible to learn to love it.) But Arcanum is very good otherwise and very similar to Fallout in other respects. You can easily tell that it was made by some of the same people. It belongs on this list for that reason but one should not play it and expect combat like in Fallout. And install the unofficial patch of course.
I second the second post. ATOM RPG looks exactly like the game that the OP was wishing for. And I've read good reviews about it.
