I can't seem to find any download links for the GOG Downloader. When I click on the download links in the download sections of games I own it expects me to already have GOG downloader installed.

I'd never known this page existed, but went looking for it just now:
https://www.gog.com/downloader

There's a download link on the page. Seems to work.

Not a direct answer to your situation, I know, but maybe it will help.

Google search : gog downloader.
You will find it ;)

You have to install GOG Downloader first. You can download the program from the link provided by grimwerk. After that the GOG Downloader link should work. If you already have the Downloader and the link is not working, maybe you should try to contact GOG Support.

I think the question was more "where the hell is the link to the downloader itself?". It's not dead yet, but GOG did a good job to bury the still twitching corpse anyway, by severing all mention of it on the website, apart form a mysterious "GOG downloader link" page for each game that must have any newbie scratch his head in confusion. ^^

Sure, it can be found with a google search, but using google to navigate between pages of the GOG website feels weird, doesn't it?

You can find the link on the support page of GOG.
Support - Website FAQ - Downloads and streaming - Number 11.
http://www.gog.com/support/website_help/downloads_and_games

So new people who read how to download games from GOG in the FAQ will see it (at least). ;)
One of the link survived the Great Galaxy Purge? Cool! Maybe my comment was a little harsh (although not putting the link on the "GOG Downloader Links" pages is still somewhat uncool)
Oh oh.... I hope I didn't have killed the link now (if someone from GOG read what I have written). :)
But let me say this: I got your point.

I don't think it was harsh at all.

While you didn't know there was a mention and a download link (I didn't either); they are only there as an answer to a support question pertaining to using an old version that doesn't work.

I still hope GOG wakes up and realizes not everyone wants to use a client and prefer the downloader (count me in), and reverses their "we don't support it anymore so it works until it doesn't" stance.

Galaxy is their white elephant and I hope it doesn't sink them even while it does seem to suck up all their resources.

Yes, sorry I misread Goopydop question. I thought the question is why GOG Downloader Link from the game library cannot be used at all. Now that I read it again, the download link for GOG Downloader Program is the question here.

Oh,.. wow. Thanks. I'm just not ready to mess with Galaxy yet.
