Jazz up your collection.

Jazz Jackrabbit: The Complete Collection and Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Complete Collection are now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount until December 7, 2PM UTC. Or get them together with Epic Pinball for a neat 25% discount.
He's green, he's lean, he's got some crazy speed: Jazz Jackrabbit, the intergalactic lagomorph with the red bandana and gung-ho attitude is back, exclusively on GOG.com. Both of his bombastic outings were hailed as platform shooter classics back when they were first unleashed upon the world, partly thanks to their tight mechanics and vibrant visuals and partly for their swanky protagonist and addictive soundtrack.

The GOG.com edition of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 can also come pre-bundled with the incredible JJ2+ mod. Packing years of dedication from the Jazz Jackrabbit community, expanded multiplayer features and game modes, tons of fixes, as well as tools to play (and create) the huge library of community-made content.
Download Jazz Jackrabbit 2 with the JJ2+ mod through the Beta Channels feature in GOG Galaxy or by grabbing the appropriate offline installers directly from your GOG.com account.
You can find more about Beta branches here.

If you're looking for an extra dose of platforming and pinball goodness, check out our Special Sale - but be quick, it ends December 1st, 11PM UTC!

ironcladgranite: Loved JJR2 as kid. This is the first game I've spent money on at GoG and and found ou aboutt/downloaded Galaxy from this. Thanks for plopping this masterpiece on your platform, GoG team!

MarkoH01: Sorry, but I am just too curious. You have been registered here since 2008 and this is the FIRST game you actually bought on GOG? What did you do all the time here?
Haven't you ever registered an account on a site, then forgot about the site/didn't care enough to go back?
Not everyone who comes here is a capital-G Gamer; some are just people who occasionally play games. Or, he could be someone who always found Steam good enough for his needs.

Tallima: Sorry to those that thought it was real. I thought the Jeeze Whiz would subtly out my performance.

MarkoH01: I was suspecting that it was meant sarcastic but the "Jee Whiz" part did not really help using google:
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jee%20whiz
Maybe US people should have understand it but I never had a chance. I would have known for sure if there had been a smiley behind it though.
That would be because it's usually spelled "gee whiz".

If I wanted to buy something I would have registered. Then I might forget about the account for years before buying another thing but registering without gaining anything from registering ... no, I did not do that. I mean maybe he was using the forum only and needed to register for that.

Still would not have helped me. Not a word about it being used as a sign of sarcasm.

I did that yesterday, they have since refunded me so i've now bought the bundle. :)

Hoovered up all the freebies as they became available? There have been quite a bit of those over the years. That'd be my guess, anyway.

Tallima: I was being completely tongue in cheek sarcastic. I love the old releases. But on these forums, someone throws a tantrum every time a new game is released as they complain that old games aren't released.

Now with Jazz, he's been high on a lot of people's wishlist and nostalgia list. So I thought it apt to throw a mocking tantrum their way of the opposite sort. There is no way to please a gamer after all.

Sorry to those that thought it was real. I thought the Jeeze Whiz would subtly out my performance.

Game on!

I went with Jeeze Whiz, which was a combination a Jeeze, which is a censored version of Jesus, and Cheese Whiz, which is a censored version of cheese.

It's all okay. I'm used to my humor causing spontaneous question marks (and occasionally exclamation points) appearing over folks' heads.

To be clear: I think it's fantastic we're getting some beloved old releases on here! I was so excited I texted my brother. We had these games on our old machine and he especially played the bits out of them.
Preprocessed Jesus in a can? :D
I'm not religious, btw.

Lucky you - for this comment you might burn otherwise ;)

Violet_CLM: Hi, I'm the project lead of the JJ2+ mod. GOG talked to us in advance about this and we were thorough in getting everybody involved in the mod's permission to go ahead. We're all beyond thrilled to see this day come after waiting nearly twenty years for it, doing our best to keep the community alive in the meantime--nobody's about to tell GOG this is a bad thing.

re Coop on LAN: Jazz 2 has LAN, yes, but also full online multiplayer, and the list server is still running to this very day. :)
avatar
tremere110: That's good to know. I've seen too many good games dissappear off GoG because a random modder somewhere decided to complain. I'll be picking up JJ2 soon :)
And which games were those?

I know there have been many games to leave the catalog, some to re-enter later, but I don't recall the reason ever being "a random modder", but things like expiring distribution deals, third party licence issues, etc.
Aaaaaaaand insta-purchased. Thanks, guys! Now, if we can get Zone 66 and OMF, that'd be amazeballs.

My guess would be the same as Mr.Mumbles': a store giveaway. (Assuming there was one in December '08.) Alternatively, he could have signed up to literally just ask in the forum, "Is this place legit?"/"How can I get my retail copy of this game working?"/"Can anyone tell me the name of this old game?", or one of probably several other questions that non-customers, prospective customers and one-off customers still tend to ask sometimes. (At any rate, his rep would seem to indicate that the post you replied to was probably his second post ever.) Or maybe he wanted to vote in the Community Wishlist (again, assuming that existed back then). Could've been any number of reasons. : )

Here's a (hopefully) more helpful description, then. (I was originally going to link to the Wiktionary definition in my initial reply, but it was bizarrely limited and restrictive to the point of inaccuracy.)
Strangely, it's hard to find a legit dictionary definition that even mentions the ironic modern usage (which is pretty much the only way it is used in the modern day).

Re-Volt and (possibly) Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth are the only ones I know of, so I also don't know what he means by "too many", except in the hard-line sense of "ANY is too many".

Yeah, seeing it that way it actually does make sense. Thank you.

Oh it is not that important anyway. Like I said I was always suspecting it was meant sarcastic I just was not able to see the hint and since English is not my first language (who would have guessed ;)) it was hard for me to understand this hint in the first way. That's all I wanted to say ... that's why I love my ;) ... they are international :D

It has been said a few times here but OMF is freeware so just download it.

As mentioned in my links, "gee whiz" was already a minced oath (a self-censored version of a "blasphemous" expression). I guess mincing something that was already minced would pretty much make a gooey substance (not unlike liquid cheese), so... ;)

Heh. =D

I remember playing the demo of Jazz 2 Secret Files. Never had the full games, just brought both Jazz 1 & 2. Thanks for bringing them back GOG!

Yeah, those two. They were sold for a relatively short amount of time before being removed due to GoG's copyright policy being invoked. It sucks since you had such a short window to pick them up. There was no warning either.

And yes, one is too many! ;)
Is this here?

"Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Holiday Hare 98"
