A Sonic live action/CGI movie? Oh brother. This will probably be an extended version of the cutscenes from the 2006 game, where Sonic has an apparent fixation with an underage girl.

Well this one is for the actual Sonic fans, "What was the last great Sonic game"?

And if you have to dip into previous consoles for your answer then I think it's time to retire the franchise.

technically sonic all stars transformed is technicallya sonic game
but its also a racer with sega characters so i doubt that counts

What i find staggering is that people must actually pay to go and see these things, me I caught a few minutes of street fighter on telly and was thankfully restrained from poking my own eyeballs out, although I do have a fondness for the MK films.

Thunderstone: Anything involving Sonic seems like a recipe for total cringe and there is little information other then it is coming and there might be a game coming out. Not to mention that video games converted into movies is almost always a recipe for suck.

They chose to go the "focus tested" route when picking various elements, or so the trailer seems to show(gangstas paradise, the silly trailer sonic look, etc).

PookaMustard: Wreck-It Ralph didn't suck, and that's exactly what you described.
Wreck-it ralph was an HOMAGE to video games, not one specific video game made into a movie.

Also then they somewhat sh*t on the first film by ralph being ok with vanellope's actions in WIR 2.
