I'd definitely recommend the Shogun games. I am playing them right now and they're very fun. A little tricky but once you get to maintain your economy and provide for your blood it's great fun!
I wish I could stand Jade Empire's combat long enough to really play it.
SHOGO: MAD , if you like FPS games in mecha-like anime setting.
I'd like to see Heart of China here!
I found this recently:

Basically a Fallout-style RPG in XII Century China. It's still in development though.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI. The base game was translated into English officially, but the PUK expansion never got that treatment, unfortunately. Which is weird, because the PUK was around for years before the translation began...

Still, it would be of great interest to anyone who liked the turn-based portion of Shogun: Total War.
or you could play games, yknow, that are from asia?
any f2p mmo :/ erm, no

Supposedly the Shogun text adventure game is pretty good.
How about James Clavell's Shogun ? It's text-based, but I remember it was reasonably accurate.

tinyE: A few months before I joined here I bought "Throne of Darkness" which really bored the piss out of me but I sometimes wonder if I didn't give it a fair shake. It's basically Diablo in Japan and instead of one you have a team of four. It was that which confused me because I could never figure out who was doing what or why.

Anyone ever play it? Your thoughts?

Oh, I see Jinsei mentioned it in his OP. Well the question and my observation still stand.
I found it surprisingly boring as well. The game got rather good reviews, but I thought the combat was rather dull. It might have been somewhat Diablo-like, but everything lacked "impact", there was no real satisfaction in killing those enemies.

On the plus side, it had a surprisingly good manual.

There's Mini ninjas, Oni, Battle realms, a lot of Three kingdoms games, Jade Empire and some other i can't remember right now :)

oh and Binary domain takes place in futuristic Tokyo and it's a japanese game :)
When I was younger, there used to be a platformer I loved called Shadow Knights, where you play as a samurai. Gonna look for that one, see if I can find it.
