Lets give this a try.

1. You already have Lure of the Temptress and Dragonsphere on your GOG game-shelf.
2. You could give Cirque de Zale a try - it's an AGS free game. NOTE: not 100% sure it runs with no problems on Win7, maybe try installing/ running it in Win XP compatibility.
3. Maybe also try Five Magical Amulets - it's a Wintermute free game. NOTE: not 100% sure it'll run in Win7, so same as above.
4. Then there's The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian (runs in DOSBox).
5. You could try any of King's Quest remakes and [url=http://www.infamous-adventures.com/home/index.php?page=games]here.
6. I see that Conquests of the Longbow and Conquests of Camelot have already been suggested - just added the download links.

Might come back if I think of anything else.

charbon: I'm not looking for a specific title, just want some suggestions from you guys. I'd like a change of pace from the games I'm currently playing and I thought, I like stories set in medieval times, there must be some good games with such settings (especially point 'n clicks). However there are a few specific things to keep in mind so the choice of games might be somewhat limited :

> no cartoonish designs, educational or comedy

> preferably 1st person games

> not mandatory but it would be a plus if the story has fantastic/paranormal elements like religious dark rituals, demons and shit. thrillers work too even if there are no such elements involved.

> no hidden items games, like those you see on smartphones

> runs on Windows 7

That's about it. Man I feel like I could consider myself lucky if there's even a couple of games fitting that description...

Thank you
Struggling to think of an adventure game that meets all those requirements. I'm not the biggest fan of FPP, so my knowledge of them is fairly limited. Would Dragonsphere count? You can get it free right here on GOG, might as well check it out.

Daemonica is worth a look. It's a hybrid Adventure/Action/RPG, but primarily adventure game. Murder mystery in medieval England. It's Isometric instead of first person though.

The Abbey or Murder in the Abbey comes to mind. Heavily inspired by Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose. Wasn't the best received adventure game, but I found it decent enough. Third person perspective though.

There was also a game based on Michael Crichton's Timeline that had you time traveling (spoilers?) back to 14th century France. Probably need eBay to find a copy, no idea if it'll run on modern systems. It's in first person perspective.

I can think of a couple of Arthurian based adventure games. There were two called Arthur's Knights back in the early 2000's, didn't play them, but even adventure game fans bashed them, so you might not want to waste your time. There was also a mid 90's one called Chronicles of the Sword, which I did play and wouldn't really recommend, but up to you.

Regarding Conquest of Camelot by Sierra, and its Robin Hood inspired sort-of-but-not-really sequel Conquest of the Longbow, Creator Christy Marx actually has the games up for download on her website. No idea about the legality of that, but there you go.

I think the closest to your criteria would be the quests in RuneScape. (MMPORG)

It's a fantasy world, but it has a medievalish atmosphere, and it is loaded with "religious dark rituals, demons and shit". Of course before you can start certain quests, you need to level up in certain skills, which might tip the scale towards "shit", if you are looking for a pure adventure.

Still, there are over 100 quests, with varying quality, some pure fetch quests, some involving fighting and stuff.

RS is not a comedy game, but it has plenty of cultural references to humor those who can spot movie/game/literature references.

If cartoony graphics isn't a show-stopper for you, then there's also Murder in the Abbey.

You can buy it DRM-free from DotEmu.

Other than those, not too many games come to mind...
Another old goodie is Cinemaware's Defender Of The Crown. Their games are undergoing a re-release on many platforms, but the original Amiga version is great as well. Their Sinbad is good too if you like that kind of fantasy.
Thanks everyone. I did take a look at all the games you suggested, looks like King's Quest is the closest thing to what I'm looking for (which doesn't seem to exist, but I can't say I'm surprised).

I did try Dragonshpere too, but didn't really like it.

@Gonchi funny that you mentionned Daemonica, I finished it a few months ago. The story was ok but GOOD GOD the pacing was so freaking slooooow. And the combats sucked real bad. One single attack, parry, and try not.. to.. fall as.. aslee.. *snores* don't know why the devs didn't just scratch them from the game.

IAmSinistar: Defender Of The Crown
Aye, that game was great fun, even if my jousting and swordfighting skills were catastrophic. I could hurl Greek Fire through a castle window with my eyes shut, though.

Was just browsing Gamersgate and they have a couple of games that might fit your search criteria, like Paris 1313.
Thief seems to match all of your criteria.
Pilgrim is a 1998 point-and-click adventure set in medieval France. Don't know if it's available for download (I've just got a copy cheap off ebay).
Not medieval, but you could consider Dracula Trilogy..

Also Pilgrim, is part of a trilogy. Other tittles are The Legend of the Prophet and the Assassin and The Secrets of Alamût , all of them with the collaboration of the writer Paulo Coelho

If you are going for King's Quest then you might as well go for Quest for Glory, which is a better game. Even though I love king's quest, it's soooo old school that I'm not sure you could get into it unless you grew up with Sierra adventures

I grew up with Sierra adventures and I'm still not all that fond of King's Quest.

If going for King's Quest, I'd suggest going for the AGDi's and IA's remakes.
I'm probably the biggest Quest for Glory fan in this forum (unless Lper Lateblt uses GOG), so I recommend those games easily. You'll struggle a lot with part 2, so I'd recommend going for the unoficial remake, since it's much, much more user friendly.

Other than that, to escape from the obvious, but great, suggestion that is King's Quest, I'd say ConQuest for Camelot or ConQuest for the Longbow, both also by Sierra, and the Discworld adventure games, which are highly comical, but still medieval.

I'm intrigued why not Quest for Glory or Conquest of the Longbow?

Two of the best point and click adventure games/series ever in my opinion...
I can think of a lot of such RPGs, but not adventure games, at least not some which have a bit of cartoony aesthetic (Dark Eye Chains of Satinev).
