To the moderators:
Have there been any discussion on maybe tossing a free game coupon our way for referring new customers?
Thanks
P.S. You guys and your service ROCK!

I really doubt that they'll give away free game coupons considering the potential for abuse of the system. Someone could just keep reffering themself and getting two games for the price of one.
I would not think so. gog is in business to make money and it is important that it survives to see DRM Free games and some of the real classics come back.
I have been to many sites and forums promoting gog and I hope that some of those people have ended up here. I have also sent messages to gog giving ideas to help them get the word out and hopefully more customers.
I simply want to see gog do very well, but I also hope they never forget their user base.
This is what Bioware has seem to have done. It says it values the customer and then really does not listen to them regarding DRM.
I hope gog has a library of 100s of games in the next year or so.
No, the thought is that a verified account & email would be created, and a minimum number of games would be purchased under that account before any referral reward is awarded. It would be simple to have a maximum number of referrals for each member, even if it's only one. It's not rocket science, the GOG guys could make it happen.
I'm not trying to be sleezy here. I'm simply offering a means of increasing their customer base by word-of-mouth. I too have been promoting GOG on other forums knowing no such program is in place. But I'm sure there are many here who don't take the time.
how's about a coupon for about tree fiddy!?
A simple reference system could work - like if someone signs up with our reference code, we get 50c credit every time they buy a game (probably just for their first month of membership).
This sort of system usually works in the seller's favour, because the small size of the reward means that each referee is unlikely to accrue enough points to buy a product with credit alone, so they end up making an extra purchase just so the credit doesn't go to waste.
Of course another option is to give discount coupons as rewards, instead of credit. In fact that's probably a better option.

I'd like to listen what they have to say about it.
I should have made this clear before. I mean that they will just keep buying games on the reffered account which gives them a free game on their other account. It should be easy enough for them to track but so easy for people to do to the point where it's just a pain in GOG's ass.
Well, the answer to that problem wouldn't be to try to prevent dishonesty, but to make it pointless. For example, you could have a system where if (games on own account) + weight*(games bought on referred accounts) > N then a reward is given. That way there is no benefit to cheating, and as a side-effect you also encourage members to spend money.

Just wanted to drop in and say that a referal system would be great and especially helpful on a service as young as this.
i'd have thought awesome games for $6 was enough of an incentive =D there could be some merit in using it for advertising porpoises though.
Yes, your reward for sharing the love & bringing others here is building up the community.
Consider: The more people that join & purchase, the more viable GoG.com will appear, and thus, other publishers are more willing to sign on.
