It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

xRa7en: sadly none of these versions work for me. No error, just mouse loading icon, then nothing. even tried disabling the firewall and av, no joy
The problem was introduced in 2.0.38

We're looking into Windows 8.1 issues currently. Please use offline installers for games for now, or alternatively update your OS to Windows 10.

Keep your eyes open on GOG GALAXY updates on nearest weeks.

Sorry for the issue you've experienced. :(

Darkwalker: I'm having problems with this as well, with a twist.
I just installed it on my laptop because my desktop computer is in for service right now.
On my desktop computer it's running just fine, on my laptop however i will not run not run no matter what.
Both computers are running Windows 7.
The previous versions suggested by others here does not work either
Please read responses in this thread:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/gog_galaxy_20_wont_launch_anymore/post33

Previous version suggested by others won't work as 2.0.37 is the last version that works on Win7.
In general Windows 7 is not supported neither by Microsoft nor by GOG GALAXY, but you can expect a fix soon. :) If you find 2.0.37 installer that will be ok too, as later on it will update to fixed new version
It won't work forever on Windows 7 and you'll have to update to newest Windows eventually.

xRa7en: get the versions prior to 2.0
I really don't recommend it due to security fixes that were done in the meantime as well as deprecated APIs this version is using.

Better use 2.0.37 on Win7 and Win8.1
Try this link: https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.37.384/setup_galaxy_2.0.37.384.exe

It should update to newer versions when the fix is out.

Hi,

We’d like to inform you that we have an update regarding your problem.

The following link contains an updated GOG GALAXY version that will:
- Fix a bug where GOG GALAXY failed to launch or update on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
- Fix a bug where GOG GALAXY failed to launch, claiming it was already running on another account
- Opt you into GOG GALAXY "public beta" updates

https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/2.0.42.21/setup_galaxy_BETA_2.0.42.21.exe

What that means is that you’ll be getting updates with the newest features and patches that we’ll be releasing to the users. You have the possibility to opt out by disabling this setting yourself in the app settings (“public beta” checkbox), however we recommend that you refrain from doing so until the next GOG GALAXY update, that will contain the fixes included in this patch.
If you are still on Windows 7 we recommend that you update to the newest version of Windows.

Please respond and let us know whether Your problem has been resolved! :)
