Please change the default behavior of X icon at the top right of Galaxy window. That icon should mean EXIT Galaxy, not MINIMIZE it to system tray. If you do not want to lose the current interaction just give me an option like it's already in Battle.net client (screenshot attached).

The same problem existed in Galaxy 1. There even has been a wishlist entry to make this at least optional without any noticeable effect. So i think it is safe to assume that this is intended (but not wanted or liked by several customers) behavior.

I know.

"Intended" does not mean we can't have more options.

I absolutely agree, this should be optional.

Battle.net client already has got this. The current Galaxy situation is bad for every new user who is used to "X icon in window corner means close the application". I can understand the situation that GOG wanted to introduce something new, but why delete the option every windows user is accustomed to?

Steam minimizes to tray upon clicking on X. Uplay does it as well as Origin. Despite not using any other game launchers I highly suppose that most of them minimize to tray when the user clicks of the X. So I'd rather say that most gamers are used to that behaviour and would be confused if it was changed for Galaxy.

Just to be clear: you are not arguing against the idea to make this optional, you just want the default to be "minimize to tray", right?
Right, you can hardly argue against optional features, imho :-)

Agreed. :)

I do use only Battle.net client as other than Galaxy one, so as "for gamers" it is 1:1 for me.

But if you are saying that "more clients uses minimize" it just must be a gamer's clients thing - general rule for almost every other Windows app is "click X to close the app".

Please add this as an option. "X"=close, "_"=minimize. So when I hit "X" I'm expecting the program to close, not minimize. Leave the current behavior as default, but please give us the option to have "X" close Galaxy 2.0. (which is brilliant BTW)
I don't see any reason why they couldn't add an option to do this, but no, the default should remain as it is. Every other major gaming client minimizes to the tray when you click on the X. Like I said, I have no problem with them adding an option to have the X fully exit the client, for those who prefer it that way, but I certainly don't want to be forced to have it that way.

I remember in the near past I considered X should mean Close and not minimize in this kind of apps. But in fact what a lot of launchers do is minimize to tray, which is different than the classic minimize in windows. Even, launchers use to have options in its configuration to select close or minimize to tray as an option.

If I am not wrong the app in the tray should spend less resources and if it is well designed it have the basic options like launch lasts games or going to library, store, etc... with a right click.

So I changed my mind and now I consider pretty convenient minimize to try or close to tray as default. Ideal is have the option switchable, of course.

GOG Galaxy 2.0.61 Beta update = the BEST update!

"Added settings to customize GOG GALAXY behavior when minimizing or closing the main window, or launching a game."

At last!

It took ALMOST 3 YEARS to fix. :D
