Any tips on making the game stable? (like compatibility mode, video options, game options.. etc.)

I noticed the game crashes often, so I was asking If there's a configuration that wuold le me play with less amount of crashes ^^

I have a 1366x768 Laptop with Windows 10 and updated drivers.

Should I have to expect that the game experience will be somewhat blocked at some point by some bug?
If you haven't done so already install:
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/patch/169-critical-rebuild-english

Is this HD graphics you have on the laptop?

BTW, the problem is not unique onto HotU. It's just that the graphics demand get pushed farther with each expansion and further still with all the lastest community content, tilesets, animations, etc.

If it is crashing a lot, it is probably your computer that has a problem.

I have played HotU more than 6 times, it is very stable.
I run the game on a laptop with the same resolution and fairly garbage spec. On 2 year old drivers as AMD chucked this architecture under the bus. The first driver for it was the last on Win 10.

I also have Win 10 and I've had one crash across all the campaigns........in game. Can be a bit of trouble to get it started on occasion though. The other mods are running fine as well.

If you run an AMD/ATI card turn off shiny water, that and those cards don't get on. I do get a little lag here and there but it's playable.

You can also try setting your GFX card driver settings to every controlled by application. Older games don't like being overidden or even recognise some settings.
I don't know why, but now never crashed again.

It was crashing when ALT+Tabbing or 2/3 startups.. (so when I was launching it from Icon it succeded only 1/3 times, but then it continued without crashes).

Maybe now it stopped crashing because I rebooted the laptop? I've been alt-tabbing the Whole morning between NWN and NWN wiki without any more crashes :)
