Just intalled NWN 2 from GOG. opened it up, tried to change the resolution but when I did, the screen went black and I could do shit all.... any ideas?

Switching to windowed mode usually works. Change the resolution, then switch back to fullscreen.

Alternatively you can edit nwn2.ini found in "Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2". This should work as well.
