Khasim83: When will people understand that the developers don't get 100% of the game's price as income? CDPR only gets 100% of the price if the game has been bought via GOG.com. Otherwise, the developer gets the most part, just like record labels.
Also, Michał Kiciński said in an interview that as far as they know W2 is the fastest-selling PC game ever. Erm... WoW: Cataclysm sold 3.3 million copies in 24 hours.
Well first off, publishers do take a lot of coin from sales, but the point of digital sales is that they take much less. I would imagine only at retail would CDPR lose more than 10-20% of their revenue.

Secondly, there is no way he could have actually believed it was the fastest selling PC game. He must be delusional.

I'm sorry, you're right. WoW: Cataclysm is a multiplatform game. Most of its subscribers are PS3 and Wii users. How could I be so dumb.

Depends, its a campaign/graphics expansion for SC 1^^ And a mostly a competitive multi player game.

Seriously though, 400k is an impressive number no matter what others achieve.

LOL

You're not too bright are you?
400000 1 week for a PC only game, well on pace for easily over 1 million, whats the issue? Game is doing very well. Only major advertised titles and big franchises sell faster.
low rated
they sold there souls and now its going to xbox..

Witcher 3 is officially ruined .. no sale for me.
400,000 is a good number!
I hope ALOT of those are GOG.com sales.
I know the ONLY reason I went GOG.com was CDR increaded their revenue return from purchases there.

People who expected Blizzard and Bioware numbers are crazy because CDR doesnt have the bank roll to buy and maintain mainstream advertising and reveiw purchases like those companies. Had CDR been able to buy the ad space (and there by purchasing the reveiws written) we all would have seen 2-3 articles a week about The Witcher 2 game on the popular websites like IGN, Gametrailers, Gamestop, and more and the game would have easily scored 10/10 masterpeice score.

CDR didnt have that so they had to have faith their game could produce a high score on its own merits, and it did for most part.

400k is a good start, should guarentee a profit (no waiting a year for numbers to rise this time) and hopefully by the year end they in the 1.5 million range this time around.

The sun is shining on CDR, lets hope they stick to what brought them to the dance.

PS: The release on the 360 should grant anouther 500,000 sales minimum which is icing on the cake for CDR.

Oh wow, god forbid they actually try to make a profit by expanding their audience. Let me guess, the consoles ruined it for us and so did the game companies?

Actually there is a very strong argument consoles and their mass appeal have greatlt hurt creativity and watered down gaming. I mean when the witcher 2 is considered hardcore and difficult, you know games have become designed for the simpleton. Dont get me wrong Loved TW2, but there is evidence the mass production of mainstream games has hurt gaming and its becoming like the music industry.

mico11: About the sales of this game is it 400.000 retail, or does it include D2D, Steam, GOG ?
its too bad considering a tampon gets more advertising than the game did.

in fact i saw more adverts to get my arsehole bleached than for the game ;)
