i must one of the lucky ones as i have no problem with nmy nvidia 570 card.
Excellent! I'm running the game almost perfect on my HD6850 but if they can smoothen out a few stutters then I'll be happy! Right now everything is great except I'm forced to choose betwen AA and SSAO, having both enabled leads to some micro-stuttering. I love my AA but at the same time SSAO makes everything look so purdy!

I'll probably finish the game before it releases but there is always play through #2 to look forward to!

Yes this is the Witcher 2 hotfix - it should also slightly improve single GPU performance, but focus is CF support

Also - New CAP will be released by Friday (please don't use the leaked 11.5 CAP2) - The new CAP will be called 11.5 CAP3

CatalystCreator Andrew D

so... the only improvement of this hotfix for the witcher 2 its crossfire scaling enabled?
I also found that the performance increased, but if you have a dual-GPU card or a Crossfire setup you will get light bleeding through surfaces. Which is 'fixed' by renaming The Witcher 2.exe to "Dirt3.exe", the strange lighting will stop but you will also take a hit on FPS.

Scaling works for my pair of ATI 5770's, but there is still light flare issues, [read: balls of light] with this hotfix and latest CAP. Disabling anti-aliasing in the configuration settings fixes this. But I happen to like having AA @ 4x even at 1920x1080 resolution, so it's not a great compromise.
Until ATI sorts this out, I use RadeonPro with Dirt 2 profile / alternate frame rendering. You can put AA on to your heart's content and whatever other settings you want. The trade off is frame rates aren't ideal [read: wide fluctuation], but doable.

How does renaming Witcher2.exe to Dirt3.exe do anything? I could name it Oogabooga.exe and it will still just launch the game right? Also, I have never even seen a profile for Dirt 3.

It will use the Dirt 3 profile, giving you slightly erratic and a drop in frame rates, but the lighting issues is gone. Try if for yourself if you don't believe me.

Fair enough and I'll try it out of curiosity when I get home to my computer, yet how does simply renaming a file make the executable access a different profile? Also, I haven't seen a profile released for Dirt 3, perhaps it's out there somewhere.

They mentioned single GPU users may notice a bit of a performance boost as well, but the focus is on Crossfire users. It helped my single GPU.

i guess Catalyst drivers / CAPs use file names to know which profile to apply.
There hasn't been an update on this issue for a couple of days. Kind of frustrating that xfire users have had to wait over 2 weeks now to play the game correctly.
