I have Windows 7 32bit with 4GB of RAM and have been suffering frequent crashes to desktop until I used the 3GB Switch solution as found in this post:

While this fix does prevent the game from crashing it hiders performance both in Witcher and other applications, will the next patch solve this issue? I really want to play this game but it's either frequent CTD or poor performance.

Let's hope CD project even acknowledges the problem I hope they will not sweep this under the rug.
Sadly I don't know if there is something to fix.

Since you have a dedicated GPU and a 32bit OS you probably have 3,5 - 3gb at your disposal.

Windows will use 500-1000MB minimum so there isn't more then 2gb left for TW anyway
the game is not optimized well that is why i think. The game uses 2.10 GB when I check it during game play with task manager.
