Are you updating from v1.1 or day-zero-patch?

Try removing any mods and delete all the dlc-files from your CookedPC folder (those might be: dlc_finishers.dzip, hairdresser.dzip, alchemy_suit.dzip, magical_suit.dzip, merchant.dzip, roche_jacket.dzip, swordsman_suit.dzip). Run the patch again.

If it doesn't help, I suggest re-installing the game completely.

Yikes, I guess I have to reinstall then. I've got quite a few appearance mods, such as blood runes, and Roche's *awesome* tattoo and scar :)
Try running the 1.1 GOG patch again, then the 1.2 patch. Report back.

I uninstalled the game, deleted everything but my save files, reinstalled the game, and tried running both patch 1.1 and 1.2 and neither are working
i'm remove "alchemy_suit.dzip dlc_finishers.dzip magical_suit.dzip merchant.dzip roche_jacket.dzip swordsman_suit.dzip " and re patch it work - confirm

Did you delete the leftover files in Program Files/GOG/The Witcher 2? I think those files are the mods installed because the uninstallers don't remove the mods.
delete pls

As far as I'm sure, I've deleted all the system files period, when uninstalling the game. Clean slate.

Then I installed the game again, to my desktop this time. It ran the activation patch, and then put in the "DLC files", but not the whole files, I guess something that looks like it's just a placeholder, as the files are 1kb each.

Then I tried running 1.1, and it said Incomplete Files error, then I deleted those DLC files, and tried running both 1.1 and 1.2 which both give me the same error

The 1kb each are just fine.

But try re-installing the game (sorry, you'll have to do that again :-/ ) and running patch 1.2 right away, without activating the game first.

I tried re-installing. Made sure the entire game folder was gone. None of the patches worked.

The uninstaller won't remove all the files. It will only remove the files the uninstaller was programmed to remove and that excludes all the mods.
