There is a respec in the game but it's not obvious, you can miss it.

I don't like respec though, it makes your choices pointless. Also I worry "rebalance" makes the beginning easier rather than making the end harder.

I would never respec either, but obvious or not, it's clearly not needed in a patch if it's already there. Everything is obvious with the interwebz!
