The voice acting in TW2 sucks. The voice production is the absolute pits, it's really boomy and always comes from the same place no matter where the charectar is speaking. The cinematic cut scenes are anything but cinematic, they are dry and lifeless mostly because the body movement is CRAP and the SAME IN EVERY CUT SCENE, seriuosly, Geralt flexes his palm outwards when he's angryr, he does it when he's sad, he does it when he's explaining, it's really ameturish. The only good things about the game are the combat and the models and textures and the dialogue itself is not bad either, if you can ignore the dead faces, shitty sound and totally uninspired direction.

I'm not asking for expensive facial animation, just some natural body movement and put the people on the left side in the left speaker and the people on the right in the right speaker. Basic stuff.

The game is so visually nice out of the cut scenes that I expect to be able to kick back in the cut scenes and be treated to some nice direction but time and again it's just 120 seconds of looping plastic movement. Often times the characters' head movement will be in a loop where half the time he'll be speaking in one direction, and half the time in another. Of course the pauses in dialogue will not match up to when he changes direction and the voice will sound exactly the same no matter which way he's facing. All of this detracts from the realism. You'd think that they could spend a few hours on this basic stuff rather than thousands of hours painstakingly animating the women's tits and arses. I don't know any other modern game that uses movement loops in the cut scenes. Motion capture is not expensive, we've has the technology for over 15 years now and everyone is using it!!!
The voice acting in TW2 doesn't suck. They synced the spoken text and lip movement very well (in german). I agree on the few gestures characters use during conversations though. It sometimes took me out of it.
Making one guy talk left and the otherone right would possibly be very annoying.

The voice acting is good. Better than most games, for certain. The only thing about the cut scenes I don't like is that move that Triss does all the time.

She throws two hands up, shakes them twice, while swinging her hips. She does this exact move repeatedly in cut scenes and it makes me chuckle every time. Saskia does it too, but you don't see her as much.
I must vehemently disagree with almost everything stated in the original post of this thread.
Disagree about voice acting, I have seen some horrific voice acting in games and this is definitely above the average. As far as facial animations go then yeah, there are many times when you would expect at least some kind of reaction and there is just calm poker face. Geralt on the other hand is pretty expressive sometimes, maybe the devs just forgot about all the others.

What kind of sound system are you using tho? My voices keep changing direction all the fucking time and become completely inaudible when the camera is not positioned correctly towards the NPCs. This is really annoying during the scenes where you have to walk from A to B. I got 5.1 headphones and Soundblaster X-Fi.
