Is playing quwnt required to get out of the imperial palace in vizima?

i followed the doted line in the mini map and it took me to the main door. then it said use quick travel. and it shows nothing but the floor plan of the palace.

Hit the space bar (on PC). When in the world map you can change from seeing the area you are in or the entire map.
