Release the GOG Galaxy client for linux
Linux :)
I keep hoping that there will be a native gog galaxy at some point. Maybe it would be possible to implement a community version with official support from CD Projekt?
I'm quite surprised it's not a thing.
+1 !!! I really need this also!
You can just install it through Lutris. Probably other ways to do it, but it's how I do it on bazzite.
Please, please, please!!!!
one of my games is linux native, but to update the game I have to directly download the game and each dlc one by one. please give linux users a compatible launcher :(
Yeap, I change Steam for GOG but I use a Linux Distro, so... please, release the GOG Galaxy client for linux.
+1
I was there, Gandalf. I was there 3,000 years ago, when herbwest made the post for a Galaxy client on Linux. I was there the day the requests of men failed.
yaasss i've wanted galaxy on linux since i first started buying games from gog plsss
Please linux support would be awesome
Steam Deck support is needed! Please!
Yesss i want that
Even better would be an integration of Steam and GOG library. Just in case like in the recent discovery one of the quests from The Witcher 3 led to Cyberpunk 2077. Having games from one creator splitted between many retail agents is non-optimal solution if for example creating a video multiverse is coming...
I forgot to add, it works on Debian 12 (Linux) :P
GOG Galaxy works. I just bought Cyberpunk 2077 and added it via Steam Add Non-Steam Game to my library. It works.
Why on earth is the launcher not compatible with proton. Need it for GOG library on Steam deck.
GOG galaxy + Proton for Linux and i will buy something.
The amount of money I will spend on GOG if you release a Linux version will single handedly cover the development cost, just release it
Yes
YES PLEASE!!! i would love to use it.
up
I still hope that one day we'll get this
In order to support the many distros of linux, you should offer a flatpak or snap version of galaxy.
Linux :)
We’re ready
Linux users want GOG badly!
save sync keeps me on steam, i would love to move to gog
GOG is one of the best things for games in recent times, please, you need to pay more attention to the Linux world, you can't depend on a platform like Windows, if you really want games to live forever, you need to have all the support on Linux, as long as there is a single person in the Linux community, some distribution will be running, and games will always have a home.
I Vote for this, but for all Linuxers, try Heroic is awesome, and work with steamdeck
Let's be honest, Galaxy is a bad piece of software compared to other store or community launchers. I only use it for the occasional multiplayer DRM that needs it, but I'd prefer a native client to the current WINE shenanigans nonetheless.
I play on a Steam Deck and I want this badly. Until then it makes no sense to me to buy any game on GOG, I'll buy them on Steam.
There is always the Heroic Launcher for those who want a launcher on the linux platform. It still would be nice to see better linux support from GOG.
Had to repurchase some games on steam. Sadly, as long as there's no linux support I won't be back here until there is.
Long a go i've bought a game that had Linux version on GOG but since there was no client i had no save files. Sure i could save those but back then i didn't think about it. And on Steam it just works. I can easily transfer to another PC and have ALL of my save files just need to download the game again.
Yes, I have to buy everything on Steam because of that. It's a shame GOG isn't trying.
GOG on Steam Deck would be goated
I kind of assumed GOG had this already seeing they have quite some games with Linux support, weird that there isn't one yet
+1
GoG could make a launcher together with the community, but they prefer to be limited, I never buy a game from GoG and I made this account today just to comment here, GOG doesn't make an effort to have more customers, I won't be the one going after it , if she wants my money she will have to work hard for it, otherwise there will always be other ways for me. GoG and Riot are among the worst in the gaming market.
I've actually gone back to using Steam because GOG refuses to do this...
It's just... easier.
+1
I won't use steam because I don't like the DRM, but I launch I windows less and less. I linux client, with an old black and white UI / manual update / "run at your own risk" games would still be perfect for me
DEW IT
I got you boys, open lutris, click the plus, search lutris site for installers, search for gog galaxy and install it, there you go
GOG galaxy has been developped with .Net/C# at the time where this techno were windows only. This was a strategically bad decision and the changes from the version used are probably huge. So a port to linux means a complete rewrite I am suspecting. There are alternative software to do it like heroic games or lutris.
Linux would be nice +2 for open source as well.
37k people wanting a linux client and... crickets so far.
I'm trying to move away from everything DRM and proprietary. I've ditched windows last year, and i'd love to ditch steam whenever i can in favor of gog, but i need a linux client to do so.
