When I start up BG1, I get nothing but a black screen; no sound, no intro, and no launcher, desktop shortcut goes directly to the game. I run it as administrator, and I get the same thing. Is it a windows 7 issue, maybe an NVidia driver issue?

It's not an nVidia or Windows 7 issue -- I have dual GTX 580s on Windows 7 Ultimate.

First, where is it installed? If it's in 'Program Files', uninstall it and re-install to somewhere like C:\Games\

Next, is it vanilla BG1, and what mods do you have installed? Post Weidu.log here.

I have no mods installed, and it's installed in my GOG Games folder, but on my second hard drive (A:)

Ran it in compatibility mode, set to Windows 7, and it worked perfect

What executable is the shortcut pointing to? It should be Baldur.exe, not BGMain.exe . If that is all ok, then I suggest uninstalling and re-installing.
