If I press Ctrl+A or Ctrl+S ingame, I get messages like:

Sequence Attack - Stab
Sequence Attack - Slash
Sequence Damage
Sequence Die

What is this?

Please don't double-post. Here's my answer from your other post:

CTRL+S chooses a sprite's animation.
CTRL+A animates the selected sprite
