Please forgive me, but I'm not tech savvy.

I'm playing BG3 on my home desktop. I'm active military so I often get sent to different places. I purchased a gaming laptop so I can continue to play while I'm away.

However... I downloaded the game to my laptop, and I only have the option to start a new game with a new character. Is there a way I can download my progress? I'm hoping GOG saves it somewhere. Thanks for any help!

The feature you want is typically marketed under the name of "Cloud Saves." It needs to be enabled on the computer where you first started the campaign, so that your saves written there are uploaded to The Cloud. Once there, other systems, like your gaming laptop, can download them from The Cloud and play them. As far as I know, all games sold through GOG that support Cloud Saves do it through some sort of integration with GOG Galaxy, so if you are not using Galaxy, I expect cloud saves will not work for you. (Also, not all games sold through GOG support cloud saves; but I expect that as a recent and well-marketed title, Baldur's Gate 3 probably does support it.) If you are using GOG Galaxy, you may still need to find and enable some preference to get the result you want.

I know my post does not directly solve your problem, but hopefully pointing you to the standard name for the feature ("Cloud Saves") will help you research it further.
