I intend to leave 1 or 2 spots in my party for the NPCs recommended by the community, but I dont know if I am getting this correct.... I am using Gamebanshee and Gamefaqs (actually a FAQ/Walkthrough by Haeravon) to guide me in doing *every quest* possible, try to find items, earn XP, etc... be thorough in all chapters. My question is, which is the bets step-by-step guide?

From Gamebanshee I get there are only the following NPC quests:

Dorn's Quest (EE)
Neera's Quest (EE)
Rasaad's Quest (EE)

After which I can, err, dump them for good if I want to (or where would they stay and wait for me? At some temple, tavern...?)

I do not mind being spoiled (but feel free to leave a spoiler warning anyways).

Also... is there some sort of list (by category) of all items, equipment's, etc... for BG:EE 1 and 2 ?

Many thanks,
pd
Neera;
hints, collect Edwin first then go back and get Neera... for her actual quest you want fireball wand and frost wand... fireball the wizards then frost wand the guards, any summon will help keep the guards from raping Neera but a good fighter works as well

Dorn;
your best way to survive collecting him is go invisable and let him kill them... for his quest you can nuke them all with fireballs or what ever else but his final battle is overpowered enermy and buggy as hell so fireballs form long range are the best

I never take Rassad in bg1

many thx ussnorway. i know the community encourages us to try every NPC companion for the richness of dialouge, relationships etc... but i honestly only care about extra quests, items, xp, that sort of thing.... having my own concept of party of 6.

In light of this, is there any problem at all killing or dismissing NPCs? Do you get Reputation loss even if noone sees? For instance, Xzar and Montaron .... do i need t hem at all to even trigger that Nashkel Mines? I read they are there only to actually talk to the mayor.... no reward at all (besides their items and potions).

Thanx!

EDIT: after testing, I removed Imoen and checked if I could re-recruit the 6th cusrtomised member I had removed. The only thing he says is "What you got?*. I see no dialogue option to re-recruit him.... is this normal? Is there a way to get the exact customised member again?

thx.

If you do take Rassad I recommend giving him Relair's Mistake until he can level up, as a wolf he gets 18 STR, 17 DEX and 2 APR for 1d8 damage. Better than he'll have for a while. It only lasts a couple minutes at a time, but can be cast at will.
to get Neera you must fight some red wizards guards... unless you have Edwin in your party... in which case he outranks them and you don't need to fight but Edwin will never travel with someone the red wizards are hunting so he gives you the "she goes or I do!" option once the guards are gone.

you don't losse any rep for killing any npc but some other npc may get upset if you attack their mates... others like Edwin and Minsc will come to blows without your help and of course Mazzy goes berko against you | anyone if she sees them attack her ranger so that could lose rep for you in some senarios

no thats not normal... if you ask say Imoen to join and kick a multiplayer member then they should stand still untill you ask them to rejoin or leave for good... you only get one go at this so don't kick them unless you are sure.

well i dont know if thats the case, but when i drop my party member to include Imone e.g., immediately after they "chase" me and ask if I want them back or not. If I say NO, then I cannot take them again. No dialogue etc.... I can do that with Imoen, and that tells me it is a script thing. Or some bug affecting custom members....

Anyways I will retake a save with Imoen to see if reaching the Freindly Arm Inn somehow this gets fixed, but I doubt....

what mods are installed?

I don't play the gog version anymore because of bugs... the Beamdog version doesn't do this but that sounds like a mod to allow split groups i.e, Jaheria without her hubby?

p.s, no chance of any more bug fixes from beamdog sorry

This is normal behaviour. When you dismiss a party member they always force greet you with (paraphrasing), "Do you want me to leave, or should we continue on as before?" If you dismiss them they switch to their joining dialog. It is not a bug or a mod thing.

Edit: Note that if you're having issues with this it's probably a mod conflict disrupting the proper course of dialog interaction and change.
