Hello, I am playing BG1 with the mods from the conservative modders guide. I have just started playing, and, why there are a few problems like the screen focusing on the upper left corner when I talk to someone rather than the top, the main one I'm having is that character voices won't play. I have the sounds folder, and I can play them in Windows Media Player, but when I click the play sample button in character creation nothing plays. Can one of you guys help me?

It sounds to me like you have an installation order problem. For example, the widescreen mod and GUI mod absolutely need to be installed in this order:

Widescreen
TWM_GUI

Also, to receive any meaningful help you need to specify whether you are playing BG1 on the BG2 engine (BGT or TuTu), or original engine, and provide your precise mod list (Weidu.log) -- nobody can offer sensible help if you just say 'I am playing BG1 with the mods from the conservative modders guide', which could mean anything from one or two to all mods.

You can try changing your sound settings from surround sound to stereo. These games are old and can't handle surround so the voices are put on channels you don't hear. Your problem is pretty common and that helps pretty often.
