I do not like cheating. But lately, the ,older the game is, the more difficult it is. I simply don't have the time to grind like I use to. I want to see the story, and I want to see what happens. But I can't. I get sick of dying. I have added the Cheats=1. The console comes up, owhen I enter the EnableConsole:CheatKeys() it doesn't work. It gives me a last tolkien read message.

I just want to advance the story and see what happens. :/

You shouldn't need to cheat or grind, but if you must:
CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys()
I have tried.
I'm also playing as a Warrior, I believe. Running it on easy. And I have restarted the game a few times to power up. Ironically, I'm still level 1.

I tried that. I get some error message. I put Cheats=1 Under the [Game Options].
It doesn't work for some reason.
Believe me, if I wasn't desperate to see the story, and I had more time, I'd do without.
For BG1, the correct line is "Cheats=1" under the [Game Options].
However, for BG2+ToB, the correct line is "Debug Mode=1" under the [Game Options].
If you installed it into your Program Files folder under Vista or Win7, you may also want to check your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Virtualstore\Program Files (x86)\Black Isle\Baldurs Gate\ folder, and see if there's a second baldur.ini there. If there is, you'll need to modify the one in the weird location, instead of the one in your actual game folder.

The correct ingame command for both games is (case sensitive) CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys() just like TheJadedMieu said. The EnableConsole thing from your first post won't work.

Since you didn't specify which BG game you're playing, this may help.
I randomly discarded Amuana's bones in a house/dungueon/map, before I realized
they were useful, and after hours of searching I gave up on the Umar Hills Quest. lol. fail.
I changed my baldur.ini file as you directed, but when I try to save the new file the message
window appears "access is denied".
Should i save the file as notepad, or all files, and do you have any ideas as to why access is denied??

Run notepad as administrator.
The game can be frustrating at the very beginning when you're level one, and a wolf can kill you in one blow. It gets better.

Have you gotten people to join your party? Khalid and Jaheira in particular start higher level and our good fighters. You may want to send them out in front.
