It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Myslinky: Yeah, I've tried both Ctrl+ Space and Ctrl + Tab as other websites have suggested and I've also tried having the line say Cheats=1 but none have worked yet.

Coelocanth: Everything in your .ini file looks the same as mine except I have the game installed in a different place (C:\Program Files\Games\Baldurs Gate II and my Games folder is actually on a different hard drive and simlinked through Program Files).

I also set it to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and run as Administrator. Maybe try that if you haven't set it?
Just got this yesterday. Tried to add debug mode but it won't let me save it it. Suggestions? Using Vista

If it won't let you save it, sounds like the file is write protected. Check the file permissions.

Fixed that and then did the compatibility mode move and it worked fine. Thanks Much!
Geez, this is killing me. Everytime I try to save my Debug=1 it says "access denied". Any chance someone could walk me through step by step how to do this correctly? I am using Windows 7.

Cope the file over to Desktop, make changes and copy back.
I've been reading this thread with interest. I have pretty much the same issues as the OP. I'm several hours into the game and want to enable the console. Like the OP, I use Win 7, but also have the widescreen mod installed so that I can play at higher resolution. If I use Win XP Compatibility mode the game thinks I'm starting a new game, all my saves aren't available to load and it goes to a much lower screen resolution. If I take the compatibility mode off, my saves are still available and the resolution remains unchanged. Any ideas or work rounds?
In case anybody else comes along with my problem, this worked for me:

I had the game installed in Program Files (x86) - I wish I'd read up a bit more first but I'm too far in to reinstall anywhere else
I edited the ini file to include Debug Mode=1 and saved it
I started the game using Run as Administrator (my save files were not visible)
I started a new game and saved as soon as I could and then exited
I navigated to Program Files(x86)/GOG.com/Baldurs Gate II and then clicked Compatibility files
I opened the Save folder and copied my last Quicksave
I then navigated to Program Files(x86)/GOG.com/Baldurs Gate II/Save and copied the file into there
Might be a neater way to do it, but it works
I am not able to find the baldar.ini file anywhere! Only the readme file has this information in it and modifying it does nothing whatsoever. Help please!

Myslinky: I'm Trying to get debug mode to work but to no avail. Using windows 7 I edited the baldur.ini file fine and saved it, but the window won't open in game for it. Any ideas?

Below is the contents of the .ini file, but I believe everything is correct there.

@ nolongerdemure - The Baldur.ini file is in the main game directory. Two questions for you - what OS are you using and where have you installed the game?

I'm sure it's been stated before in this thread that if you're using Windows newer than XP you'll have a difficult time effectively changing the file if it's installed in *any* \Program Files\ directory. C:\Games\Baldurs Gate or similar and you won't have to fight with Windows protections.

edit: If you still can't find it, you may have to reinstall.
