if you install easy tutu do BG 1 and 2 morph together or do you know when you have beaten the first game and then have to import a character into the second game?

You get to import the character to BG2. They act as different games, as they should. Characters with different stats in BG2 get their right stats and so forth.

If you want continuity you may want to try the Baldur's Gate Trilogy instead.
It is considered the superior conversion these days, not least because it's still supported.
