I decided to see if I could set up a public multiplayer game of BGEE by using my desktop with the GOG Galaxy Client and my laptop which isn't using the client. The one without the client can view lobbies and even join the one I made on my desktop but it will give me a message "waiting for information from the server" and then it will say it couldn't connect. I did both with and without password on both Desktop and laptop while receiving the same message.
I did try to do LAN but for whatever reason my LAN Lobby wasn't showing in the lobby browser.
