MasterZoen: Well, I finally figured out why I had no overlay and never had any notifications pop up: I didn't have Public Beta ticked in the General tab of Galaxy Settings. The notifications and overlay are beta features, so if you have beta features disabled then you don't see them. It would have been nice if that were actually mentioned somewhere on the Game Features tab... I hope this will fix the problem.

Now Galaxy just needs to realize that I filled all my cybernetic slots two days ago...

Edit:
So, this enabled desktop notifications, and the overlay is now active in some games, but I can't enable it in Cyberpunk 2077 and several other games that list support for it.

Edit 2:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game fixed the issues.

MasterModeus: I have this problem with the achievements and I've updated to beta. I don't want to have to uninstall the game as my internet is incredibly slow. Is there another way around this? No achievements have unlocked for me at all but it is tracking my time played.
Achievements were unlocking before I ticked Public Beta, so I think you might be having a different issue. I've seen achievements list themselves as unlocked on XBL and trophies on PSN weeks later, though they have the correct timestamp for when I unlocked them. I think this might be a similar issue with Galaxy just not showing them as unlocked for a long time.
I got one achievement.

Though to be honest I won't give a rats ass about them until I can play the game without having to restart the computer after every crash.

If crashing is an issue then disable all overlays. MSI Afterburner uses an overlay, fully close the program; Steam uses an overlay, disable within game properties; GOG Galaxy uses an overlay as we've mentioned, disable via game configuration; and most recording software also uses an overlay, i.e.: Mirillis Action, close the program; Xsplit, close the program, OBS, close the program, Bandicam, close the program, Nvidia Shadowplay, disable via GeForce Experience; Whatever AMD's recording software is, etc.

A lot of games have issues with overlays causing them to crash at launch.

I appreciate the attempt to help. :-)

Sadly I haven't used overlays for years, because of it causing problems in another game.
I apparently unlocked "The Fool" but I don't know what prompted it. That seems like it would be your first achievement. I haven't gotten anything else even though I've done the requirements for them, like getting those 10 dialogue options specific to your life path or whatever it was. Know for a fact I've done that. Not sure why the achievement system on GOG is so bugged.
