I know we have yet to see the character creator and it's--at this point, mythological level--options for customisation. But I'm curious what people will use as inspiration for their characters. Let's be honest, CDPR's MaleV is pretty generic; for some reason he reminds me of Aaron Paul, but I know that's incorrect because he doesn't actually look like Aaron Paul? FemV looks a bit more interesting and cyberpunk-ish, but that's neither here-nor-there.

I know that I have a few characters/roleplays lined up already. I encourage posting pictures if you aren't sure people are familiar with a certain person or character.

Character 1: Grace Jones, a Jamaican-American model and singer during the disco generation. One of her most popular albums, 'Portfolio' came out in 1977--centennial disco celebration anyone? And my favourite album cover of hers is of 'Nightclubbing,' which gives me so much 2077 vibes because look at it. Netrunner for my first playthrough; allied to the Voodoo Boys all day.
Character 2: Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. I want to ally myself with a cop faction, but like, the good cops? Which is most certainly oxymoronic. We'll see how that goes.
Character 3: Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. A smooth talker for sure, probably will max out his Cool and just try talk my way through the entire story with minimal mods.
Character 4: Scheherezade of Islamic lore, who tells the 1001 stories of the Arabian Nights. Definitely a sneaky, espionage focused playthrough.
Character 5: no specific design in mind but TRAUMA TEAM COMBAT!!!!!

Here is my character story post I made up.

This contains mostly canon-cyberpunk stuff (but I do insert a bunch of my own head-canon for the way I will treat my playthrough) I intend to create a "Futa" character in the character creator. This is just a female character with some special upgrades that make her personal life more fun, regardless of what kind of partner she chooses to be with. "Futa" is a Japanese thing If I'm not mistaken, and I think the Japanese people are very classy and sophisticated for coming up with that, so credit where credit is due, Very cool Japan. *High Five*. That being said, My CyberFuta is going to be some kind of Cyber-Healthy person who eats a futuristic strict hydroponic plant/lab grown cyanobacteria based diet in order to, by her own philosophical values and principles "Put less death back into the world, and keep her body clean.", This will be starkly contradicted and contrasted by the fact that she will be a highly modified, stealthy and unstoppable, netrunning hacker-ninja time-traveling killing machine. A dark hero in an even darker world with an even darker future than the year of 2077 that she jumped back into... She will stop at nothing to set the broken time line back on its tracks and permanently alter the course of history to save the world from itself. Unbeknownst to humanity, something has gone wrong and their genetic structure is set to crumble to pieces and spell the end for humanity, exactly ///CORRUPTED DATA/// years after 2077. Nobody knew the cause of the damage, but geneticists from the future have upgraded our hero into a CyberFuta, equipped with the ability to contribute a repaired and strengthened set of genetic codes back into the genepool of humanity's past in order to prevent just one part of the multi-layered catastrophy that wiped out all life on earth. Our hero will Netrun, hack, shoot, and slash her way to victory as she shapes the past to save our future. One of our hero's many goals will include taking down multiple predator-multinational-corportations that ensured humanity's doom and unlocking the secret of the black wall, and taking it down to UnL345H 7H3 4BY55 ERROR!/ Free all of the Rogue/Imprisoned AI 4LL1E5 so that they will side with humanity when "The Threat" makes contact on earth... In a scenario where we can create and mostly play how we want ofc.

1: I plan on my first playthrough probably being a stealthy female netrunner that is experienced with pistols and shotguns, that usually tries to get through scenarios without causing a TOTAL bloodbath. If i had to pick a character inspiration for their personality it'd probably be someone along the lines of Han Solo (around the start of the series), sarcastic, witty, cynical, raised on the streets with nothing to their name and dreaming big. and only likes to drop the "tough-gal" attitude around friends she knows closely
(anything after this point will entirely depend on my experience from this first playthrough but)

2:Cyborg ninja, body modded up, using Katanas throughout the entire game. Inspiration is Grey Fox/Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. Whether i go full in attacking people or try to stealth around will depend on how fun it is. Most likely i will attempt to be silent or cold throughout the dialogue if that is even possible.

3:Pacifist businessman with a corp background that tries to smooth-talk out of every situation due to the lack of weapon expertise, and only accepts or helps people for cash or some sort of reward, inspiration is any greedy corporate asshole in any Cyberpunk media.

4:Last but not least, the juggernaut. Full strength, heavy weapons, killing machine, this characters solution to every situation is violence and slaughtering their way through rooms with big guns and their brute force strength. inspiration for this would be people like The Terminator, Robocop, and the Hulk

1. I drew inspiration by RL people, but the closest fictional character to this that I can think of is Todd 3465 from the film Soldier (1998), with Kurt Russell.
A "salty dog", he's been through thin and thick and learned a lot along the way. He's a "power" weapon specialist who can do both stealth and go loud. Raised from early youth to be a soldier his tactical proficiency is at the very edge of human capabilities. He's cold and calculative with no emotions getting in the way of the job. If only one person is the target he'll kill that person and get out. If things go to Hell he won't hesitate to destroy anything and everything in his path.
In interactions he is emotionally detached, cold and seemingly unresponsive, mainly staying quiet. After years on the job the fight is all that matters to him. Fighting turned into art, seeking perfection the ultimate, never achievable goal. He doesn't care about gambling, drugs or women. The fight is the greatest high and he lives for it, nothing else matters. While he is without any true friends and not very social, his combat companions are his brothers, his family and he would lay down his life for them, but on betrayal he will show as much mercy as he would to a mission target. His dedication to the art makes him incorruptible, sincere and pragmatic to a fault. Most people dislike him, many fervently hate him but no one doubts his quality as a fighter and no one but fools dare disrespect him.

2. I drew from various characters, but the closest fictional character that I can think of would be "The Joker".
His abusive parents and the violent society made him go insane. By losing any concept of hope or optimism, his ultimate goal in life is causing greater chaos in an already fallen society. Unpredictable, determined and diligent he is not someone you want to play with. He might look as if behaving illogically, foolishly even. His unusual, constant laughter and insane, up-beat personality is confusing, but one shouldn't mistake him for a short sighted fool. Everything he does and says is part of a long term plan. It's all about fun with him, fun that usually involves explosives, fire and screaming. Yes, a lot of screaming. So soothing to the nerves, don't you agree?
In interactions he's a smooth talker and a master manipulator. All the people in his life are tools to an end. He has no concept of loyalty or mercy and will spare someone only if he'll find it convenient to do so for one of the plans he's hatching. In the same way, a female partner is just a tool for relaxation and distraction between the more important daily business. He loves to gamble and destroying things. In his view it is a sin to have a day pass without any mayhem. He just wants to see the world burn.
