I was really excited about this game when I saw the premier a number of years ago, but ended up not purchasing it when it came out due to a combination of video card limitations and horrendous reports of buggy gameplay.

It sounds like they've moved on to adding new content in patch 1.6. Does that mean they've worked the bugs out and it's reasonably stable/playable?

Most of the bugs had been already worked out with 1.31, in fact.
They've kept tweaking the gameplay and some features since then, while also fixing the odd minor bug here and there. As it is now, the game is stable and fully playable. It's not perfect, but it's enjoyable.

I just loaded it up on an up to date windows pc and it doesn't even load. I press play and instant crash.

Try few time , maybe try to run a benchmark? See if it's Similar issue to me when it crashes when trying to start a game but sometimes it starts but crashes after few min.

I'll be checking older versions. The game run for me on release but at terrible frame rate caused by overclocked cpu. Didn't know at the time.

I had this at launch and now after updates and half price I bought it to try under the impression that the game would be fixed with improvements.

CDPR are nothing more than Eastern European criminals and who knows what other more nefarious activities they could be involved in. It wouldn't surprise me.

CDPR should not be allowed to operate outside of Poland, probabaly used for money laundering.

That is not correct. You'll find lots of proof around the internet about how the bugs that affected the game at launch have all (or mostly) been fixed. The gameplay has also been tweaked, and some new content has been added.
It's still not perfect, but certainly it is not the same as it was at launch.

Yeah so "all" or "mostly" means you aren't sure so there's still issues which remain with the game.

Jackie suddenly turning into one of the Revenants from DOOM while I'm sat at the table next to him in a bar near the beginning of the game.

Jackies has his pistols stuck to his wrists during the elevator part.

After that synth robot women is collected from the appartment on a stretcher, I turn around to speak to Jackie and he walks inside a metal cabinet, all the conternts come flyiing out then he casually walks across the room.

Those 3 things alone were in the game when I first bought it at launch and are still there.

Also had problems with manual saving not working. All of the bars which show previous save files and the one at the top to create a new save are sometimes blank.


Playing again (after posting the above) and another thing I've noticed is the save icon taking forever which causes the game to stop progress, so the NPC stands there doing nothing while I watch an animated spinning disc on my screen. This has happened multiple times. The best method I found to deal with this is to pause the game and go do something else and come back to it later.
