I feel like there's enough hype around this game for it to be a GOG exclusive and still make a ton of money. This is a first party title and there would be nothing wrong with it being available only on GOG. This is a missed opportunity to draw more people to the platform in my opinion. From what I've read, when Thronebreaker first launched on GOG, it didn't do too well salewise but let's be honest, it was not nearly as anticipated as CP 2077. I understand that CDPR want this game to make available to as many people as possible but at the end of the day, they are a business that need to make money in the long run. I don't see why they should share revenue with the likes of Steam or Epic Store when they worked so hard for many years on this highly anticipated game. Nobody criticizes Valve for making the Half Life series a Steam exclusive, people eventually got over EA making their own platform and selling their games exclusively on Origin. Epic doesn't get any hate for making Fortnite their store's exclusive. CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077 shouldn't be treated any differently by the gaming community in this regard.
Steam simply allows them to sell to a larger audience, there are plenty of people who still don't know about cyberpunk. Selling on steam first of all gives them access to millions more people compared to just GOG, and people won't complain about being 'forced' to download another app for a single game

I have to agree with both of you.

Nah, people complained when EA came out with Origin, especially when they made Mass Effect 3 exclusive. Epic Store is also copping a lot of flak for their buying out companies to have all the exclusives they want. Gamers have wanted multiplatform for ages and CDPR is one of the fewer big companies advocating for it. Good on 'em, I say.
It does irk me when I see people saying they've pre-ordered this on Steam. Why wouldn't you want to support the developer by buying it directly from them? Perhaps some people just don't know GOG is an option, or even if they do, they refuse to have more than Steam installed.

Whatever it is, it's probably overall a good thing that people can order the game from the more than just GOG; gives the game, and by extension CDPR, more exposure. In an open market people really should be able to buy things from multiple store-fronts, and my personal feelings of trying to support good development houses directly really shouldn't cut those options away from other people.

Agree with Daiyus37
Although I will be buying 2077 from gog (they rock), I would still like options.
I have multiple games on multiple platforms (except for epic, I hope they go out of bussiness), on gog and on steam.
Some games I can only play on an older system, and some I can play on a newer system, and sometimes one or the other will get updated to do the reverse.
I like options.

Too bad the world isn't as rational as you think it is.
I've seen a surprising lot of people refusing to buy a game, simply because they'd now need to click on a different launcher.

That being said, even though I accept exclusives and understand their value, I still think freedom is a more preferable option, when given the choice.

Well there are many different Aspects, even some which i wouldn't think of and are suprised People come up with, but i'd say the biggest Aspect which plays a role is that people simply prefer to have their game-collection / library at one place, rather splitted over many different ones and to enjoy the features aid plattforms offers. Y'know Achievments and such, and while yes gog have some of this said features as well, again its an different profile on an different plattform / launcher.

Well, while i see it as well that people should look at some aspects more rational, there is also limits to that. And if your Comment goes towards the recent Epic Games backlash, i would argue it's rather deserved. Because you never heard many people complain about EGS before as they released fortnite only on EGS, due most people where rational enough to understand it's their own game and they can do whatever they watn. First-Party Support is widely more accepted than what EGS did with their anti-consumer-practice. It's a different thing if you do your own Games and release it on your own plattform, or to buy (time)exclusivity stuff which normally would've on Steam or other Plattforms anyway. Time-Exclusivityy is cancerous, and it was already for me even on Console(and again firstparty or proper exclusivgames / examples i'm rational enough to find it okay because this are systemsellers and part of the appeal of said consoles), because it divide the Gaming in two classes: the VIP EGS Buyers who can ejoy the Game first, and the dumb Steampeasants which have to wait... interestingly enough that the latter ones are often the most supportive and loyal ones, and get betrayed in such an harsh way. Otherwise i can't explain myself, how thanks to their loyal kicktarter / backer-community Shenmue III(which seemed pretty impossible to that point) who helped that the project even exist, got an steam key promised and now it goes EGS (time)exclusive and not even get an refund and / or a steam key anymore but rather the EGS Key forced down their throats.

So yes, i think there is many (rightfull / justified) dreasons for despising EGS and being emotional rather rational, and bothered by an "extra launcher".
I originally pre-ordere this through Steam. I have since moved it over to GoG, but here is a little perspective.

1) My social circles are on Steam. I literally have only one person on my friends list in the Galaxy client and that person is family.
2) The social features don't reach said circles. If I take a screenshot, I can't upload it (or at least I am not aware of such a feature) to a gallery to share with others. I can't broadcast to other users in GoG. That requires using a third party service. Forums are much more easily reachable on a per game basis.
3) I have a lifetime spend on Steam over $28,000. That's a lot. That's a lot that is really hard to accept fragmenting the library for.
4) Buying on Steam has always been a smooth and known process. As someone that has occasionally bought games here, the process isn't habitual yet.
5) There is a misunderstand that GoG Galaxy is a required utility to run games from here.
6) Epic is damaging trust in other platforms outside of Steam.

Why did I move to GoG for this one? Steam is failing to improve. Their store is a cesspit, the forums are nothing but memes, vitriol, and "y I vac banned". I remember looking at the new releases and always finding something that I wanted to see. Now? I have to wait to be told there's something interesting coming by an outside source. Steam sales are no longer useful, and most of all Valve does what they do best: Nothing.

I agree with you on this.. Would love to see some innovation from their side, but nah... As you said: Nothing unfortunately
One thing GoG desperately needs is a mobile friendly forum.
