So the update is not needed if you do not have Nvidia 40 series?

No. It also breaks all mods that use scripting.
There's a way to uninstall this update/hotfix? The game seems to be broken after the upgrade (I use some mods)

I recommend waiting for mod updates. RED4ext is already updated and CET is scheluded for an update tomorrow. I have the Steam version which doesn't offer anyway to rollback an update (for some reason CDPR doesn't use the beta branch feature). I don't know how GOGalaxy works since I barely ever use it.
This update also breaks the game in Windows 7. Stick with plain 1.61, if you use 7.

Having played 400 hrs vanilla starting at day one
hoping for car workshop, improved romance and crafting, walkman-radio, coming officially from CDPR, only a few hundred kbs - cannot be so hard to do, yes?
Waiting, praying, sighing...
finally decided to install mods.
Yesterday morning.
In the evening CDPR dropped the 6 gig bomb.
Silly noob that I am, it caught me by surprise, auto-update enabled.
No hi-end gfx here, RTX 2060, so 1.7 is totally useless for me lowly peasant.
Lesson learned?
Ha ha ha.

Is there a way to go back to 1.61?

Yes. Use the offline installer for the previous version of 1.61 that you should have downloaded or roll the version back with Galaxy.

Thank you Sire.
My shame has no limit.
I bought the game on Steam when it came out December 2020, fan of Witcher series, then ignorant of GOG being CDPR.
Also followed the stupid idea of having all games in one place. Guess I deserve my punishment.

When I look at the patches, what should the order be if I want to skip the DLSS?
From patch9 (1.5 hotfix) to patch 2? It's a bit confusing that the newest patches seem to be patch0 and so on.

curiousdan: ...what should the order be if I want to skip the DLSS?
It's the most recent one. The order is already listed in reverse.

Thanks!
Oh boy. I just bought CP77 and this damned patch won't allow me to enable DLSS in graphics settings.
The older plain 1.61 does.

I've already installed the latest NVIDIA drivers for my 3070 via the safe-mode DDU uninstall and reinstall. What else should I try besides using the older game version?
