midrand: Thanks - appreciated. This is just a matter of principle - I want to be in control of what these installation files are, where they are. I'm getting older and like to keep things simple.
AlanDavison: I do empathise, but you have to realise they really can't do what you want (have a completely offline installer prior to release day) without making the game playable before release day. After release day, you almost certainly will be able to. As is the benefit of GOG.
Simple solution - 99% complete offline install available as pre-load. I mean, files are files - whether through Galaxy or otherwise - they are just a sequence of zeros and ones. No reason to have one of these ready but not the other.
The only benefit I see is that the delayed offline installers will _hopefully_ include the zero day patch already.
