midrand: Thanks - appreciated. This is just a matter of principle - I want to be in control of what these installation files are, where they are. I'm getting older and like to keep things simple.

AlanDavison: I do empathise, but you have to realise they really can't do what you want (have a completely offline installer prior to release day) without making the game playable before release day.

After release day, you almost certainly will be able to. As is the benefit of GOG.
They can have a 99% complete offline installer as a pre-load just like they did with Witcher 3 back in 2015. You downloaded a pre-load which was missing the executable and some 2GB or so (if I recall correctly) of data to be added. This is not new, this has been done before when GOG cared about their entire community and did not shove Galaxy down your throat.

Simple solution - 99% complete offline install available as pre-load. I mean, files are files - whether through Galaxy or otherwise - they are just a sequence of zeros and ones. No reason to have one of these ready but not the other.

The only benefit I see is that the delayed offline installers will _hopefully_ include the zero day patch already.

Installer files are nice big compiled files that, well, install the game. Not a billion tiny files that you have to find the executable to run, not to mention backing up all those tiny files are slow copy over a network to a NAS or external hard drive.

In any case I usually download the offline installers, but also pre-loading off of GOG Galaxy for Cyberpunk 2077 so it'll be ready to go. Even though I probably won't be able to play until the weekend, lol.

nothing stops them from making an installer that just gives you the version we have now (that does nothing but tell you to go back to sleep) and then releasing the unlock as part of a downloadable update bundle. they just don't want to do that.

Yes, did I say something different? Those "nice big compiled files" are really just compressed archives of billion tiny files, that's all they are. Once you install the game, the nice big files will convert into billion tiny files. Or less if the developers "unwrap" them in real time when the game runs.

Or even simpler - it does not even has to have the executable and can be missing a chunk of key data. Real simple, been done before, can be done now, they just don't care.

Some people have data caps, some people have daily/monthly/hourly data caps, some people have slowdowns after X amount of data is used, even though their cap is not reached for that day/week/month, some people have horrible internet based on their income/location/vountry, some people have bad wiring, some people have to deal with horrible companies.... the list goes on and on.

So, some people use public spots or a friends house to download games and whatever else. I used to use my buddies wireless point just to play MP games.

You can use GOG Galaxy to download the offline installer under the game's Extras tab. It'll just get all the bin files for you automatically.

Just make sure you go to the settings first and choose the download folder where you want "other downloads" to go to.

TBH they should completely rebuild those installers and make voice languages optional like in Witcher 3. Because out of maybe 100-1000 ppl who will be curious to compare voices in all the languages no one needs more than one or two installed. That's how Galaxy installation works.

I contacted GOG support about a similar issue and got these tips from them.
I'm adding them below in hopes they'll be helpful to you :)

If none of this helps, please try using a different browser.

Please also check if your antivirus or firewall software is not interfering -- ideally by adding gog.com to its whitelist/trusted list.

If the issue persists after following the above, you should be able to download all parts of the installer by using (and modifying) this link:

I had similar issue .... Ctrl+R in my crappy Firefox redownloaded page and suddenly I had available all files for download. However using Galaxy and extras for download offline installer is much easier because you can download all files at once ... ideally during night.
