I have this idea for an XMas gift. Basically, I thought I'd buy a handful of games, and instead of installing them myself, I'd put the game codes in a text document (along with maybe some amusing/nice pictures, a digital XMas card, and whatever else I figure might be nice) on a small, cheap thumb drive, then give that to my would-be recipient.

Is this feasible/allowed? The codes don't expire if they're not used within a certain amount of time, right? And will they automatically be tied to my account because I purchased them, or will the person I gift them to have them tied to their account when they're used? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm still pretty new to GOG.

yes this is doable (its something thats been done before and asked about before on here).

firstly you'll need to buy the games as a gift (you can just mail them to your own email).
the under your orders and settings page you can find the codes or who has redeemed them.

if buying multiple games at the same time you'll only get one code for the lot (though individual games can be redeemed). if intended to send gifts to multiple people via the method you intend, seperate purchases might be best.

that said, i think gog now has a minimum purchase threshold to buy gifts ($10 in the last three months i believe). hopefully somebody else can fill you in on that with more details though.

Thanks, I appreciate the response! Yeah, the threshold was a limitation, but fortunately a customer service rep helped me immensely and I should be able to do what I need to now. I assume I should probably send them to a different email address than the one my account uses? I probably will just in case, heh. Thanks again!

Not necessary: the e-mail will just contain the username of the "gifter" and their associated e-mail address (in this case, both will be yours), the redemption code (in plaintext, as well as with a link to the redemption page that will auto-enter [though not auto-redeem!] that specific code), and a summary of what items are contained in that code. You can then just forward that e-mail to your recipient when the time is right, if you like, or do what you're talking about and copy the code into some other message/card/physical gift. Sending it to the same e-mail address associated with your "LloxieFoxie" GOG account is not going to throw up any red flags or tie it to that e-mail account or anything. :)
EDIT: Added further clarification

LloxieFoxie:
No problem!

I think Hunch summed up what you needed clarification on well enough for me to be obsolete now.

You can and should send them to your account email, and then copy down the codes into a text file and then send them to whomever you want.

Also note there is a 10 purchase(purchases can be any amount of games afaik) per day limit, combined total of both self bought games(for one's self) and gifts.....that means if you make 10 purchases of 1 gift each, for example, and try to make 1 more it won't go through until you try the next day(whenever gog resets the clock each day, iirc). I myself bought a bunch of games(1 code per purchase) and it stopped at 10, and I sent a ticket to gog to verify but I am pretty sure this is the case/limit in place.
Hope this info and that of everyone else helps, Op.
