Sorry friend, I really can't help you. I thought maybe Win10 could be the culprit, but you're on 7. I considered just giving you my Ps3 copy, (I honestly hate the game), but you don't have a screen to play it on, and when I looked into the potential shipping costs... Just, wow... I'm friendly, but I ain't that friendly >.> Wish you the best of luck. If it makes you feel any better, IMO, you really aren't missing out on anything. I'd personally much rather play any other mainline SH (2's still the best one).

Oh, no worries! That'd be far too much effort, although I appreciate your willingness to help out. It's not like I'm desperate to play it. I only picked it up because it was so cheap, and I never played it before. If there's no way to make it work, at least on my current PC, then so be it. I know that it has a somewhat mixed reputation, when compared to the classic Silent Hill games ( which I've already played, multiple times ). So far I've only played the first few minutes ( over and over, for testing purposes ), so I can't really judge its quality, but the combat system and the overall style of the game seem pretty good.

Silent Hill 2 is great, and I'd recommend it to anyone who is new to the series, especially since it is only loosely connected to the other games. I think my personal favorite may be the third one, as I like the cast of characters, the connections to the original Silent Hill, and the many amusing easter eggs.

omega64: Just that slot, if you load it the items are gone. If you keep backups that's fine. Better to be forewarned though.

CharlesGrey: Yes, thanks for the warning. I already read that it seems to have several potentially game breaking bugs. Did you play it on PC or console?
PC, many years ago. Supposedly even more broken these days on modern systems.

So I noticed. :P

I wish GOG could get their hands on it, to fix it up and offer it for sale here ( along with the other, classic Silent Hill games, of course ). And maybe the classic Resident Evil games, for good measure.

What about it? :P

I didn't like the characters as much as in the other classic SH games, and it's the first SH game without an alternate "joke ending", but aside from that I thought it was a good Survival Horror game. The main character's apartment as central hub for the game was an interesting idea, and the 1st person adventure parts, ghost hunting etc. added some welcome variety to the gameplay formula. Overall, I think it has enough interesting ideas going for it, that it's worth a playthrough for any SH or Horror fan.

What's the problem with these classics anyway -- I mean, why isn't GOG selling any of them? For the SH series Konami seems to be the problem, but what about the old RE games, including the games from the Gamecube era? Capcom is already on GOG, even if they don't offer many games here, and the classic RE series would be a great match for GOG's catalog.
