I'm new to this website and returning to PC games after a long long time.
The sheer number of games is overwhelming and I would like to see a "Hide/Block" feature on games next to the "Wishlist".
This list should be reviewable with wildcard searching so people can remove more than one game at a time if they change their mind.
Once I decide I don't want to play a game I don't want it showing up on every single search and cluttering up the screen.
I want to target my attention on games that have a chance of me actually spending money on it.

GOG - As you can tell I've purchased some games and this feature would probably amount to you making more money in the long run...

GOG is a store, what use do you think they'd find in such a feature?

Relevant community wishlist entry to vote for:
Being able to mark a game as "Not interested"

And related:
Be able to hide games that are already owned from the list of games to purchase
Mark games as 'already owned' (without purchase).
The ability to mark a game as owned (so I don't accidently buy a game I already have from somewhere else)

Lots of use. They can advertise genres of similar games to owned and not waste regular ad space with titles you'll never buy.

Many stores have this feature. Especially when they have lots to sell.

With this feature, I'd likely see games that I didn't know existed in the site.

For those reading the thread who do not use Steam, Steam has this exact feature. It allows you to flag a game as "Ignore" in the store so that you ideally no longer see it. You can also specify whether the reason you are ignoring it is because you own it on another platform.

With the tens of thousands of video games available online nowadays on Steam and several thousand available on GOG there are naturally going to be a lot of games consumers are just not interested in at all, and it is not only a waste of the consumer's time to have to wade through them all all the time, but it is a waste of the store's time showing people things that they have no interest in seeing - for whatever their reasons may be.

Having the ability to hide games in the store catalogue like this is thus a win-win situation for both the consumer and for the store as it helps to filter what the consumer sees to be more of what they want to see and might be interested in buying and less of what they do not want to see and wont buy.

So this is a good feature suggestion for GOG to consider and it seems likely that they would add such a feature at some point in time. I think there are a lot of potentially very useful filtering and sorting options that they could and should add to the store to help customers find what they want, and this fits right into that.

Having said that, I speculate that it will be years before we see such a feature in the store or in Galaxy as the list of potentially useful features that would be nice to have is massive, and progress on implementing such features is incredibly slow due to limited development resources.

I've been wanting "sort by price" and "filter by price range" with configurable lower and upper limits for like 6 years now, both of which would benefit customers for the same reasons but such features are nowhere to be seen officially. I use a 3rd party website script to add some of this functionality to the website which is everyone's best bet for the foreseeable future I suspect.

I thought that's what curation was for, and why we use gog instead of itch. ;)

The ignore feature gives me no options. It's just ignored or not.

EDIT: Oh you mean from the games page.

How about also a feature where we can make a public list of games with certain themes for other users to use as a reference.

A tailored 'mix' of games available on GOG... a GOGMix if you will.

Never forget, RIP
Hey GOG, seeing less of what the customer does not want to buy means they also see more of those titles they may buy ==> PROFITSSS!

happier customers
i would instantly hide all those visual novels and forum games

pretty much, this is why curated stores are better than filled up ones with shovelware
