These were the only continuation of DnD games that takes place within Baldur's Gate, and the first to not focus on the Bhaalspawn. (As far as I know)

But clearly they don't play like the old PC games and play more like Diablo on Console?

But for what they are, are the games any good as is?

I played dark alliance 1 back on the Xbox, with the partner as well. We really enjoyed it. It is a hack and slash adventure, linear, predictable story, no depth. Still fun though. How are you playing it, on an old console or is it released for pc now? Would chuck a £5 at it if it was on pc. Not played the second, though I hear it’s more of the same.

It's decent for a BG game, though not the best....also a bit linear as others have said. It might be hard to get for under 10 bucks on console, though, as the copies i've seen were a bit pricey for some reason(maybe rarity?).
For console action RPGs inspired by Diablo... yeah they're great! Realize they have nothing to do with the PC Baldur's Gate games, other than a few locations and a character or two. You visit the thieves maze from near the end of PC Baldur's Gate in act 1 and go to the Elfsong Tavern early on. THINK its the same bartender from the PC game. Zero story connections.
They are awesome.

Need an analog button to get the most out of the Archer character (I think only ps2 had it, maybe Xbox, definitely not GameCube).

DA1 is better IMHO, but both are great games. Especially 2 player.
My wife and I enjoyed them.
DArk Alliance 2 is a reminder of a world past. I love it.
