I don't know the rest of the story but here I prepared an intel about some games made by Poles.

☞a promotion inc. developers, publishers and themes
https://www.gog.com/promo/20241108_polish_days
archived link -> in post 37

☞and a fat thread with a lot of titles "made in"
https://www.gog.com/forum/general_pl/made_in_poland

now then, please consider two titles, one from each list ☜
and post something nice about..... another country! ^ yours or close or imagined.

Fighting within a pub can't happen, but it can be awkward nice what you will say.

Once the Black Friday Promotion starts (pretty soon), we will pick up the winner the same way as here.
The winner has to share one game with another participant, keeping one game forever.

Everyone is invited, questions are welcome and good luck!

Thanks for your generosity!

Interesting games from both lists immediately jump out at me. The promo has wishlisted games at the top, of which the first one is Children of Morta: Complete Edition. The lack of updates for that game is bothersome, but digging into it, the only thing that's really missing is online co-op, which I don't care about (and I somehow suspect that gog not offering tooling for that on Linux (i.e. galaxy, or at least the library part of that) is a large part of why this is missing).

In the "made in Poland" thread, I get 4 entries in before I see the wishlisted game Against the Storm. No Linux support there, alas, but it has a platinum rating on protondb, so I'm willing to take the gamble (ooh, plus it has a demo; I can (and will) try if it actually works => edit: did so; works near-flawlessly (only have an issue where the game refuses to shut down properly), and found it to be very atmospheric and pretty addictive - the roguelite aspect feels somewhat lightweight, as I never even came close to failing any of my towns, but I can see how it can all spiral out of control, and the various races, biomes, random buildings, etc should certainly keep it interesting for a long time).

Lots and lots of other interesting games in both places, but why look further when two amazing titles like this immediately jump out at me?

Two roguelites - one arpg, one city builder, both genres I'm very fond of. I kinda really hope I won't win, since choosing one to not keep would be hard! :D

Posting something nice about another country. Sooooo many to consider! I love countries with amazing nature, so was going to go with New Zealand or Argentina or Canada or ... but then read "yours or close", so instead let's go with... Norway! Not only do they have amazing nature there, and a culture which appreciates and makes it accessible, but they are also home to some amazing musical artists out there, like Aurora and Ane Brun.

From the first list, Both Front Mission 1 and 2 popped up from my wishlist but since I can only pick one I'll go with the first game. Played the 3rd game on the PS1 and absolutely loved it. Its got mechs and turn-based combat! Two of my favorite things. :)

From the 2nd list, the expansion to Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, is the game I'm most excited to play from Gog so that is a no-brainer for me.

Something nice to say about another country.... Well the United States borders Canada and I've had the privilege to meet a lot of different Canadians. And I have to say that the stereotype about Canadians being nice is false... They are actually incredibly nice! They're just such a down to earth and chill people. Was not expecting that at all. Plus, some of my favorite sci-fi shows were filmed there like Andromeda, Stargate, and Battlestar Galactica. So, yeah, Canada's the best!

Thanks for the giveaway solseb! :D

Quick question, from what I read it sounds like the winner will receive both games but one of the games has to be given to another giveaway participant? That sounds neat so we get to have two happy winners! Does the winner get to pick the person that gets the 2nd game?

Thank you for an inspiring start! ^ And for PM. We will use ohmyluck.com with everyone's nicknames to pick up one person. Yet the core of all this is that your kind words will go far.

Awesome that is you who celebrates giving power as the award. Thank you! The winner does receive chosen games(codes), also choosing the second person to hand one code to. Two winners as you said. : )

From the first list I would like to pick Blood West, and from the second list I would like to pick the Witcher 3 Complete Edition.

I never visited the Czech Republic, but I would like to at some point. It seems like a beautiful and historically rich country, and the Sedlec Ossuary is pretty metal.

How does the winner choose which user gets the a game? Does the winner just post what he has and who wants what?

Thank you for your kindness! You have it instinctively right. Just by posting words and titles, we know who is in and for what games. And by posting "I chose ..(name)..to receive the second award", the winner picked up another winner.
At this point let it be to the person chosen by the wheel to decide to give one of his own won games to the person of choice or even to let that person pick one of his own chosen games. The form will be decided by the lucky person ^
Aww, man... Going by the thread title, I expected a deep and intellectually satisfying discussion of astrophysics. About black holes (supposedly) having two (magnetic?) poles and how black holes usually *never* give anything away (except possibly Hawking radiation?).

(NOT IN. But thank you anyways for yet another very nice and generous giveaway, solseb.)

You definitely should!

I visited Czech Republic for the first time as a one-day stop on my trip to Croatia (which is also wonderful). And my next visit in Czechia was Czechia-only :D Actually I've only visited Morava, to be specific. People there are so kind, beer is absolutely awesome (I'm a beer fan and, trust me, the way Czech beer tastes in Czechia is something better than all the stories about it!) and I also love their language (which I've started to learn, just for fun).
I also love EHL (and how popular ice hockey is in CZ), which is my life-changing discovery – I often watch their games (well, not always, because there seems to be no legal way to watch EHL from Poland and I must cooperate with some dirty pirates...) and I lost all my interest in NHL :D

And I came here just to say that I really like Czech Republic and check all the other posts :)
I pick Vampire the Masquerade Shadows of New York, and Downfall Redux.

Turkiye has great weather, great food, great beaches, great history, great football teams...
Not in for anything, congratulations for your giveaway, though! The title of the thread confused me, too.
Not In

I'm just here to express my appreciation for Australia. You've sent people across the Pacific Ocean to help my state (California) with wildfires. I know we've gotten help from other states, but not all states. Sometimes we get help from our federal government and sometimes we don't. Australia is a whole other country, with less of an obligation, but they came and helped us anyway.

Our wildfires have produced fire tornadoes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrATeJ2_ET0

Thanks for helping, Australia.

I am in for either:

https://www.gog.com/en/game/inkulinati_supporter_bundle

I'm told and have heard that Prague is a beautiful city to visit as a tourist. If I ever get a chance to go there, I would go.
Thank you for this giveaway!

First pick: Blood West
Second pick: Vampire: The Masquerade - Reckoning of New York

I don't have anything particularly nice to say about any country at the moment, so I'll go with Taured. I like the fact that it doesn't exist.

Thanks for the giveaway, solseb!

From the first list: POSTAL 4: No Regerts (no idea why is this listed there, but it is)
From the second list: Against the Storm - Keepers of the Stone (it's actually not on the list, but it should be, as the vanilla game is, so should DLC :P)

Macedonia (or North Macedonia, how they call it nowadays) has the nicest people in all the Balkans region, those gals & guys have the kindest of hearts.
In for
1-Blood West
2-Call of Juarez Bundle (it was listed soooo....)

Ok, something nice....something nice.....in America the medical....no wait, something nice!

ummmmm.....lets avoid the US for this one xD

Joking aside. Something nice:
Ok, so Poland in a variety of ways seems a reasonable place to live. No place is perfect, but the average person seems to talk to those that approach them with a nice attitude. At least from the youtube travellers that talk to random folks on the street. Most of the busy areas seem clean. I suspect if I were to travel a place out of my native nation, it would be Poland.

:)
