Hello!

Soon it is Christmas! And I was wondering, if I am the only one who has a spesific type of game genre, which I play during this time.

For me, Christmas is always accompanied by great isometric roleplaying games (Baldurs Gate mostly).

What is your favourite genre / game for Christmas? :)
Witcher, mostly. Ever since i bought the series, each and every Christmas, i always have a 1 + 2 complete playthrough. Hell, even one of the custom witcher 1 campaigns is called " Merry Witchmas"!

Plus, the setting of the Northern Realms, heavily ties with Winter, christmas, the north, etc.

The order of importance in my life:
family - friends - culture (e.g. concerts) - board & card games - video games

On Christmas a lot of friends are visiting us, some of them stay for a couple of days. That means I don't have time to play video games. Not a single minute. I often find myself playing video games with Christmas themes in summer. :-)
For a couple years I have been playing Holiday Lemmings on my Amiga during christmas.

Oh - Now I am inspired to play Witcher 1 :)
Terrari's Christmas theme kicks in I believe on the 15th and runs into the new year. Santa is no longer part of the game but everything is wrapped and there candy canes and crap all over the place.
I'm playing through the community's Advent Calendar for Fight the Dragon. ;)
I'm surprised no one's mentioned "Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage" yet… ;-)

So we'll be seeing Reindeer parts on ground instead of human ones? :P
I like to play Christmas themed maps/levels in games. So I'll probably stick to Quake Live and Unreal Tournament 2004 :)

Skyrim is fitting for this time of the year, because its many snowy areas. If you are into visual novels, Kanon (with an anime watching, to go along).
You can play Serious Sam 2 ! There is a Santa level with a Santa Sam to shoot : )
Hmmmm...
My favorite genre for Christmas?

Well it's not a genre...

It's many genres...

The Grinch (from Konami)
Blair Witch Project Vol III : The Elly Kedward Tale

and games that have snow in general :P
Both NOLF and NOLF 2 got great winter levels :P

*exasperated sigh* But I already cleaned up the workshop last year! Do they always have to make such a mess?
