It won't have legit, fully offline Single-player, but it will have to check up through online DRM over a time period and will require that again and again? Are the rumours true?

Why would somebody want to buy a DRMed remaster? Somebody who is old timer and likes old graphics (plus doesn't like new artwork, which is also less bloody/gory, already enjoys the quality of life improvements through Plugy and has the old disks? Does this thing even have merits and if yes, what are those? At an exorbitant, 40euros price, too?

Look at what they did for StarCraft and Warcraft 3 remasters.
Then ask yourself if there is any chance that Diablo 2 remaster would be DRM-free…

It's just re-selling nostalgia as Blizzard has been doing for the past several years. Pretty much their standard MO now. It's just remakes, re-releases of old games and milking their successful history. Hard to tell if it's because of Activision or not, but the old Blizzard that everyone remembers is dead.

And they've been Battle.net exclusive for everything from Starcraft up. No reason to think this will be any different.

It's the current trend to remake / remaster everything. Sometimes it's a cheap nostalgia cash-in, other times (eg, Bioshocks) the PC version exists due to a new console generation port cash-in. Personally I'll be sticking to the original disc versions (DRM-Free since patch v1.12 plus unofficial widescreen mod = it still plays just fine).

Thanks. Then probably, i'll just have to skip it. I have 2 functioning copies with working CD-keys for Battle.net, already. The remaster offers nothing that i don't already have, or that i actually need, anyway. It's expensive. And i HATE DRM

My only real question, is: Will old players be able to commune/interact with remaster players?
