I have Myst 4 on CD's but it has the famous 4 second load/wait time when going from screen to screen I am hoping the Myst 4 on Gog now has fixed this as I find this terrible to play, I have even tried the CD versions on a real 95 and 98 machine with great specs plus an XP Pc from memory.
Wow, I didn't even know there was a CD version of Myst 4. I only ever saw a DVD one in shops and it made me really glad I had a DVD-ROM drive. I've never heard of the "famous 4 second load/wait time" but even my DVD copy was always pretty sluggish. I replayed it recently on my new computer and it was as sluggish as ever despite an abundance of memory and CPU time.

To be honest, I think it's just not as well made a game as the first three (in terms of engine design) and the animated hand was really annoying.

I don't have the GOG version, but hey at least I've bumped it so maybe someone who owns it will come along.

p.s. I don't know why you'd think Windows 95 or 98 would be a good match for the game, it was made in a time when XP was well established.

Oh wait its been a while and the Myst 4 I had was on DVD/s too I must of been thinking of Riven and I tried hard to get this game to work without the wait and I almost tried a 10,000 rpm SCSI hard drive to make HDD access time faster but back then SCSI HDD's were to expensive for me
